She did not wish for them to succeed which was why she made two talismans for the two kids and made them wear them around their necks since she was worried that they will drop them on the ground. 

As Song Yan was tying the talisman around Chen Yishen's neck, she heard him say, " Aunt Song … was I the one who caused my father to get hurt like this?"
