15 Inviting Himself

It took a second but Alex immediately recognized him as Paul Park, the head of the Park Conglomerate, who recently retired and let his granddaughter take over the corporation.

Alex studied about the company and their hierarchy so he knew Paul and Ashley.

"Big boss" Alex bowed down immediately as he unexpectedly ran into the owner of Park conglomerate.

His heart was racing faster as he had no idea why Paul was here.

"I am Alex Kim, just cleared an interview and will be soon joining the Marketing Department" Alex introduced himself.

"Park Paul, chairman of this company," Paul introduced himself.

"There is no need to introduce yourself sir, everyone knows who you are" Alex awkwardly smiled, trying to look less nervous but there were beads of sweat on his forehead.

"Glad to know that" Paul politely smiled and asked him, "Were you speaking to your grandpa just now?"

Alex was a bit confused by his question, but assuming it to be an old man's curiosity, he truthfully answered him, "Yes sir, I just got a job in your organization, so I was sharing the good news with my grandpa."

"Congratulations Alex, your name is Alex, right?"

"Yes sir, Thank you so much sir." Alex was overwhelmed with happiness after being congratulated by the main boss himself.

"So, what are your plans now?" Paul tried to be as casual as possible.

Although he was acting all calm and composed, Paul too was very excited and nervous as he was finally meeting his best friend's grandson.

After looking at Alex, Paul was even more sure, he is his best friend's grandson and there is no misunderstanding.

"Well, I am planning to take my grandpa for lunch, he is the one who suggested and insisted I come for this interview today, so I want to treat him to a good meal" Alex was very happy today, and he wished to share his happiness with everyone else.

Right now, the Chairman himself was talking to him, so without any restraint, Alex happily shared his plan only to be surprised.

"If you don't mind, young man, may I accompany you and your grandpa for lunch? Will that be fine?" Paul knew see he was being shameless by inviting himself but he was ready to do anything to meet his best friend, he had been searching for years.

In the last two hours, Paul already reached the office and was in his room. Meanwhile, he got his men to dig deeper about Alex and whatever information he got on Alex and his grandpa, it all matched with this old friend.

Now, he just needs to meet Kim Jong Chul personally for the final confirmation.

Alex was taken aback when the Chairman invited himself and it was very awkward as Alex was not able to understand why such a rich and famous personality wants to have lunch with a mere employee, who has not yet joined.

"Umm sir, we are going to a cheap restaurant, will you be fine with that?" Alex had no idea what else to say.

"There is no such thing as cheap restaurant Mr Kim, at the end of the day food is food" Paul smiled at the young man, as he could see how shocked he was.

How could he not be, so Paul was understanding.

"Sure sir, if you wish to join us, it would be our privilege to host you" Alex decided to invite him, as he can't reject his boss.

"Thank you, Alex. I know it is a weird request but I am hungry and I don't wish to eat alone. Although my granddaughter is here too, she is too busy." Paul still decided to explain himself even if Alex was respectful enough to not question his intentions.

"She is the CEO sir, of course she is busy, I am feeling privileged to have lunch with you" Alex again bowed to him.

A car with a driver stopped in front of them and Paul pointed Alex to the back seat.

Alex was surprised but he followed his instructions and the two people drove towards the Seafood Cove.

Alex was feeling nervous sitting in the Chairman's car, he didn't expect this is how his day would turn out to be.

'Is this all happening or is this a dream?' He asked himself.

"So, Alex, tell me about yourself," Paul initiated a conversation.

On the way to their destination Alex told him about his past and patiently answered every question asked by Paul.

Paul was impressed with how polite and respectful young man Alex is.

'No wonder he is Kim Jong Chul's grandson. He is just like him' Paul proudly thought and after some time they finally reached their destination.
