Chapter 12: Hong Xi's day out

A fat cat was walking through the corridors of a huge mansion, he passed by several maid servants cleaning or doing other chores but none of them remarked as he walked deftly under their nose.

It have been two weeks since Hong Xi arrived in this strange world accompanying his owners. Many things had changed about him since that day, he now could understand the words of his family and he earned power and wisdom unimaginable for him before; but none of that mattered as he continued his lazy and carefree lifestyle like he had always done.

Hong Xi was about to go away stealthy when he stopped for a moment as he heard the maids whispering with each other:

"Did you hear? The Venerable Master had an illegitimate daughter with a woman of another race, it was found out by the Madam and that was the source of the great change happening lately in the mansion. They then decided to accept her officially in the Li Clan while her birth mother was said to be reported missing."

"Are you sure of what you are saying?"

"I am sure, I heard it from the bestfriend of Liu Guan's sister, he was here when they talked about it."

"Such a shocking revelation!"One of them almost shouted but she was stopped by the other.

Hong Xi rolled his eyes after hearing that.

'Humans…' he sighed inside before going away uninterested by the discussion.

After he passed through the numerous corridors, he found himself before a door behind that would lead outside; but when he prepared to go out, he turned around suddenly. He saw a suspicious middle aged man that was hiding himself behind a tree and looking left and right cautiously. It wasn't the first time Hong Xi witnessed such a scene, he decided to sit and wait for what was to come before going on his way.

The man was named Jiang Xing, if he wasn't wrong, he was a 'guest' that arrived here last week. Jiang Xing began to walk stealthy and managed to reache the edge of the mountain where the mansion was hung. When he confirmed that no one around, he showed a face full of excitement as he ran in a swift manner like a bird that got its freedom back, but when he was about to get out, the protective formation of the mountain sent a bolt of lightning on his head making him fall unconscious, his body then vanished from the place and would surely reappear back in his guest room.

Hong Xi didn't comment on the happening. Guessing when the guy would finally understand that, he was just baited by that steward Han every time, became quite boring since three days ago.

As he contemplated the foolishness of these humanoids being, he descended the mountain flying and headed to his destination today.

Hong Xi was walking on a busy street in the outer side of the city, he was on a market street but thankfully the 'Grill & Fish' shop was still closed or he wouldn't be able to concentrate on his work; he saw some vendors that weren't here yesterday, they were shouting:

"This is a great bargain, these mysterious artifact come from a new secret realm, you may uncover their true potential and become the new Sage Alchemist."

It wasn't unheard of for some object that seemed to be trash to be a great treasure in the end. The Sage Alchemist was the most notable of them, he was just a random cultivator that bought a jade slip that contained godly alchemy knowledge from a stall of unknown artifact that came from a Secret realm, he then became a top level character in the continent after several years only, like a carp leaping the Dragon's gate. But betting one's life on such an unlikely occurrence was pretty dumb in Hong Xi's thought.

Look to the side, some children were making funny face discussing which sucker would get tricked.

Then came a young man wearing a blue night daoist robe followed by a guy that seemed to be his servant, he said to the nearest vendor arrogantly:

"Mister, you got these items in a secret realm? I will buy everything then."

The vendor had an ashen face when he saw who it was, he could shallow his bitterness and ask for a hundred first rank spirit stones for everything. It was such a partly sum earning an obviously fake surprised look from the young master, he then bought everything as promised. Day like this would also come, it was always better to do a proper business.

Hong Xi didn't try to reach for the familiar figure and went to another way instead. Even a cat like him knew what shame is…

After several minutes, Hong Xi managed to reach his destination, it was a dark remote alley without any people passing by. One may wonder what would a cat do in this kind of place, but Hong Xi didn't come here for a walk, it was for a proper business.

A blue screen then appeared before him:

[MISSION] Special

An intriguing matter happened in the Blue Sky city since several days ago. Several cultivators went missing after being in contact with a mysterious weapon merchant in the black market, please investigate and apprehend the culprit.

Specification: A mission for Hong Xi only

Reward: A magical pillow [An imitation of the Divine pillow]

Hong Xi received this mission yesterday, he wanted to decline it since working went against his principle, but his willpower seemed to still need some improvement.

After making a throughout investigation around the black market, he found out that the weapon merchant was hiding himself in a house in this dark alley.

He was determined to catch the culprit today and be done with this troublesome matter.

He walked slowly to the house indicated in the information and entered through the window like a stray cat; no one could see him, but it would be less suspicious that way. Inside, he found that there was only a young man about sixteen years old sitting on a bed in the dark room.

As he wondered if he went to the wrong house, the young man turned to the window looking at him, he was surprised by such thing. His Divine bloodline made so that no one would remark him even if he sat on someone's head if he wanted to, not like he tried that, so for this kid to see him was a very strange matter.

He then found out that the kid just felt the wind when he went in. Hong Xi decided to use an old tactic, he acted like a powerful hidden expert, he asked in a muffled voice:

"Little one, is there seen someone else living in this house, I am searching for the weapon seller."

The young man looked startled hearing his voice but he didn't make any rash move and said respectfully:

"Greeting senior, this one is named Chen Yu, this one is the only one living here here senior. If you are talking about the weapon seller in the black market then it is me."

Hong Xi was skeptical, he wasn't judging someone with his appearance but, this guy was just in the 6th rank of the Qi accumulation realm and, there were some Mortal transcendents in the list of cultivator that went missing. He couldn't have found some heavenly genius that fought and overcame such a great difference in cultivation right?

As he pondered over the circumstances he heard the young man say:

"What can I do for senior?"

He then asked him about the missing cultivator in the end and got the answer he wanted. These guys found that Chen Yu's goods were quite unique even if they were low leveled one, they then asked 'kindly' for the place where he found them. He indicated the new low leveled secret realm that appeared in the mount Everfrost that only a few people knew about, the news only leaked to the public two days ago and many people headed here to try their luck.

Hong Xi didn't bother Chen Yu anymore and went to the mount Everfrost, but he decided to bring an helper with him this time.

Chen Yu was left here feeling a bit lost, wasn't this the time he get accepted as a disciple? He didn't even get the chance to kneel down yet...

A little girl was riding a big large cat flying in the air, she seemed enjoying the situation greatly, they soon saw a mountain whose top was pure white in a distance.

Hong Xi and Xiao Ling'er were headed to the mount Everfrost, she was more knowledgeable about thing around, so the cat decided to bring her along. He could change his size in certain limit; what can be said Divine bloodline were so useful...

When they reached the top, they saw that many people were crowded here, they were lining up to enter the entrance of the so called secret realm, it only had treasure for Mortal Transcendent cultivators and bellow, there were nothing than trash here .

There were two particularly beautiful ladies who seemed to be there for sightseeing, they attracted everyone's attention, but the guys around seemed very apprehensive of the red haired one, no one dared to bother them.

Hong Xi was already impatient to finish this task, he went past all the crowds and entered through the entrance swiftly, no one remarked them.

The secret realm looked like a huge maze of granite, the way branched as it went further and further.

When they reached a certain depth inside, Xiao Ling'er said:

"The missing cultivator shouldn't be able to get past here."

Hong Xi then stopped in the air and used his spiritual sense and found out that most people there were of the Mortal transcendent realm and bellow, he then looked around and found several people lying in a remote corner covered in dark fog, they seemed to be in a very bad situation.

They headed descending there and Xiao Ling'er turned to him with an awkward expression and said with hesitation after examining them:

"Their situation is critical, they won't get past another day with this Dark Miasma and their corpse would then explode covering the whole secret realm in dark miasma infecting the people inside. Any normal pill won't work on them, and the only way to save them is to give them a very rare special fish full of Yang energy…"

What the hell! He didn't even get his reward yet they were asking for his treasure.

Hong Xi showed a struggling look after hearing that; he used up all of his CP to buy the fish described as the most delicious called Yang fish in the System store. He only had dozen of them and wanted to eat them little by little and appreciate the taste, but now he had to give half of them to these guys he didn't even know and whose moral were questionable.

But, he sighed in resignation in the end and took out a small ball from under his fur, he then took out several Yang fish from the pond inside while feeling like his flesh was getting cut by a knife.

'Goodbye little fishies' He closed his eyes as they went in the mouth of these suckers.

The effect was immediate, the first to wake up was an old man, he was the strongest of them all in the 3rd Rank Mortal transcendent realm, but he nearly fainted back from fear. The sight that welcomed him was terrifying to say the least; he then coughed up everything he knew to the strange little girl under the menacing glare of a terrifying beast, it looked like a cat but that was impossible.

"..As We entered the Secret realm to find treasures, someone ambushed us, I saw him using a strange tool that spread Dark miasma covering our body. I managed to see his face before falling unconscious, he was easy to recognize, he is a teacher in the Blue River school…"

The duo then left the old man here after hearing the description and stormed out of the secret realm, heading to the familiar place.

'I won't go out working ever again!' Hong Xi swore to himself, it wasn't worth it at all.

Inside the Blue River school, a middle aged teacher was holding a transmission jade slip, he just made his report to the cult unaware of the disaster that was about to befall him.

Hong Xi appeared in his office without raising a single gust of wind, he deposed Xiao Ling'er on the way since what would happen next was not for children. Looking at this troublemaker he was feeling an intense urge to kill, like the first time he saw a mouse stealing the croquet in his bowl when he was a kitten, that day was the first time he murdered anything, a fateful day...

He raised his paw and smashed it on the guy's head knocking him down cold on the floor, he actually wanted to turn him into meat paste but the mission wouldn't be considered completed that way . He then took the unconscious man out of the building and went flying away.

Several hour later, a man was found unconscious before the security headquarter of the city with only an underwear, there were a bunch of proofs that he was a spy sent by the Dark Cult and all the sinister plan they wanted to achieve beside him. It created an uproar in the whole region and rumor circulated that an almighty being was passing by and wouldn't tolerate any wrongdoing, the being was in the form of a goddess with a divine beast as a mount. It was unknown if it was because of this but the crime rate in the surrounding diminished considerably…

Time passed by and it was now the evening, the Li family were all back in the house in the Peach garden; as they waited around for dinner, Li Kun remarked that Hong Xi was sleeping on a pillow that he never saw before, but seeing that he was soundly asleep he didn't bother him. Maybe mother or Li Ya bought it, he went to the dinning table thinking that.

The other were already seated and Li Yun was talking very seriously about something like a great expert that was hiding in the city that managed to foil the plot of the Dark Cult, he even proposed that they should try to recruit him, Xiao Ling'er just showed a smile without saying anything.
