21 CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE (21) And Your Lips

Rose decided to ignore him and focus on her food.

Su Yuanqi did the same.

They were quiet until Rose had something to say.

"Do you cook this good?" Rose asked after some minutes.

Su Yuanqi shook his head.

"No?" Rose was dumbfounded. "What are you popular for, then?"

Su Yuanqi pointed at his face. "My good looks."

Rose. "..."

Su Yuanqi's eyes formed a crescent when he smiled. He was actually laughing at her for being dumbfounded but it made Rose's heart pump with blood.

Her grip around the fork tightened. He continued to smile, and Rose couldn't help but accept that he looked adorable to watch.

"You've a great smile."

They seemed to be a pause in the air.

Su Yuanqi froze. His eyes remained on his food, as he didn't know whether to look up or simply ignore her.

Rose picked prawns and put them in Su Yuanqi's plate. "Seems like food makes you happy. Have a lot of it."

Su Yuanqi's heart palpitated, her simple comment resonated in his head. In his six years of career he had come across many types of women, like the wealthy one that threw themselves at him and offered money in return, to the ones that wanted his attention by causing trouble in his restaurant, the cocky types, the annoying types... but no one had dropped such a nice comment about him, since he didn't dance to their tunes.

"Eat more," Rose placed more meats on his plate.

Su Yuanqi watched her for a long time, not eating nor moving. His hands shook due to nervousness.

Meanwhile Rose joyfully ate to her full.

"Why aren't you eating?" Rose questioned when she lifted her eyes to meet his. "You don't like it? Is it really better than yours?"

Su Yuanqi averted his eyes and cleared his throat.

"Are you shy?"

Su Yuanqi's eyes popped as he quickly spun to meet her gaze but ended up averting it again. Her eyes seemed to be boring hole into his skin.

"Mr Su, are you really shy?" She lowered her head to have a better look at Yuanqi from under.

"Who says I am?" He proudly lifted his head, acting unfazed.

"Why are you turning red, then?"

Su Yuanqi picked up his wine glass and as soon as he took a sip, he chocked.

His loud cough made heads turn to them.

Su Yuanqi's face flushed red, when Rose came to rub his back.

"What... What are you doing?"

"What do you mean? You chocked on your food, a grown man like you! So what do you think I'm doing?"

Su Yuanqi moved his back away from her reach, held her hands together and mumbled. "Get back to your chair,"

Rose had wanted to call the waitress but hearing Su Yuanqi speak, she asked. "Why are you suddenly talking so low?"

Su Yuanqi pressed his lips together, closed his eyes and drew several breaths in. He also let go of her hands.

"I said, get back to your chair." He put on his mean expression and looked around to see if anyone was watching them.

Rose didn't budge, she stared into his eyes unwaveringly, the side of her mouth lifted as some thoughts filled her mind.

Su Yuanqi hands were sweating, her eyes, her smirk and her breath not so far from his face, made him uncomfortable.

He has never been in this type of condition. His mind started to wander, he had to think of what to say to her to annoy her. He couldn't tell if she was doing it on purpose to tease him or because of how much power her aura held... no matter which one it was, it was making him uncomfortable.

Su Yuanqi swallowed. "Miss Rose,"

"You have a wonderful skin... it's so shiny. It's flawless also."

Su Yuanqi's wanted to push her away but at that moment his hands seemed to be crippled.

"And your lips?"

"Rosy and plump."

"You're so hand..." Rose shook her head. "No, you're beautiful."

Su Yuanqi lost it, his breath quickened and he broke out in cold sweat. He adjusted in his chair, wanting to get away.

Rose raised and dropped her eyebrows at him. "Are you speechless because I'm right or you're just discovering that you have all these great features?"

Su Yuanqi moved again, as he found it hard to speak.

"I promise you that if you move one more time, you'd fall off."

"Mi... Miss..."

"Call me Rose."

Su Yuanqi cleared his throat. "Miss Ro..."

Rose inched closer. "I said to call me Rose." She knew how uncomfortable he was, and she will use it to her advantage.

Su Yuanqi blinked thrice.

"Why are you so stubborn?" Rose whisper made all the hair on Su Yuanqi's neck to rise. His head felt like it was ready to explode.

"Mi... Rose." Su Yuanqi quickly corrected. "Do you realize we are in a public place?" Rose was a very popular person, he couldn't risk being seen in this kind of situation with her. It will be against him if he was ever captured with her.

"Don't worry, I'm alone."

"Doesn't mean your fans won't recognize you if they saw you."

"I'm not as popular as you though..." she winked at him. "You're on the tongue of all my female employees."

"Please sit," Su Yuanqi pleaded.

"Say Rose one more time."

"Rose..."

Rose straightened, ran her hands through her hair, then sat back on her chair.

The proud smile on her face annoyed Su Yuanqi.

"You think you're smart?" Su Yuanqi said through gritted teeth.

"No?"

"You're lucky that you're a woman..."

"You forget so fast, how we first met." She smirked. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you again. I now know two things that weakens you."

"Miss Ro..."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk... don't joke with me."

The waitress appeared with a flushed face. She looked in between the two, as she couldn't hide the smile on her face.

Rose didn't notice as she had her eyes fixed on Su Yuanqi, but Su Yuanqi was looking somewhere else.

"Ma'am..." the waitress wanted to say but didn't know how to start.

"What is it?" Rose asked, still not taking her eyes off Su Yuanqi.

"It looks like you're the master..."

Rose face scrunched up. "Hmm?" Her neck slowly turned to see the waitress red face.

"I was watching you... you and sir earlier and you are... you're the alpha! Hahaha!" Her giggles stunned both Rose and Su Yuanqi.
