4 Inferno of Vengeance.

SEVERAL YEARS AGO.

"M'lady!".

"M'lady!" . The sound of frantic screaming sounded as a maid bolted through the wooden doors of a bedroom.

The sudden noise woke up Lucinda. What was happening? she muddled looking up at the young maid with a terrified look on her face. "Fire! There's a fire m'lady!". The maid was panting hands on knees. "Fire?!" That shot her out of the bed.

"Where?!" she questioned, pulling on her robe over her night dress.

"T-the...young masters room". Her feet froze for a moment and suddenly she bolted out the door, her heart beating frantically in her ear drum, her breath came out in short pants as fear consumed her being. Her son! her darling son. She ran as fast as she could and screeched to a stop infront of the frantic crowd scattering around; the shouts defening over the crackling of fire.

Lucinda hurled a maid rushing past her with a bucket of water in hand. "where is my child?!" Her voice sounded unrecognizable. A mixture of panic and a gravelly growl.

The maid tremble over the pressure and gaze of the woman. Her hair was tousled and her dress rumpled.

"H-he's s-still..in there m-milady". Her words came out in a jumbled mess but the message was still relayed. A wild fire burned in Lucinda eyes as she shouted.

"WHAT?!!". The message was clear. What in heavens name where all these servant gathered out her doing with her son still inside. Her two month old baby.

Lucinda fearful gaze turned towards the room. The fire was in uproar swallowing the entrance in flames. There was suddenly a loud crash and crackle of fire as one of the double door fell to the assault of the flames. A path covered in fire was reveled. She could feel the blazing heat from up close. Adrenaline pumped in her veins, giving her no time to think, Only motherly instinct prevailed as she rushed into the flames her silk shrugged off and immediately swallowed by the flames.

A chorus of m'lady followed her action.

"Where is sir Connor ".The head maid cried out in alarm. "He's out of the estate seeing to other matters". A scrawny maid called back, fear evident in her gaze. If anything happens to their lady and young master they didn't want to think about what would happen to them...

The over whelming heat in the room was suffocating. Lucinda hastily dusted the flames that licked at her chemise eating up the satin fiber in burnt patches. The insistent wailing of a child filled the room. The curtains and every material in the room was on fire. Through the hazy vision blurred by the flames she sighted the crib next to a window. In panic She saw the curtain shift about to fall in the crib and she darted next to it, snatching up her child before the fabric of flame fell on the crib. The activity made her inhale and she coughed up the smoke that filled her lungs. She looked down at her child. A pair of flushed cheeks and rose bud mouth open in unrestricted cries, but he was safe and unharmed. But not much will be said about the person that planned this whole ordeal. She wasn't a fool, this fire wasn't an accident. The fact there were more flames at the door was to make sure no one would come in for risk of their lives— and if they did, for the plan of not coming out alive.

Bundling up her child well, Lucinda darted for the door covered in flames. It was too late for her to notice the beam that came crashing down on her. The weight was relentless and the pain that sliced through her back was blinding. The flames burned through the back of her chemise and licked at her back. The adrenaline cause by shock, fear and survival instinct for both her and her child, gave her the speed to shield her baby away then dig her heels into the ground pressing against the weight of the beam slowly raising it as it burned. She grunted in pain at the effort and heat and vowed vengeance to the unfortunate fool that thought they could get away with this. Her blaring eyes filled with pain offered tenfold of a world of hurt.

With one more push and a grunt, the flaming beam landed behind her, hitting one of her heels in the process. Lucinda shut her eyes through the pain and began limping towards the door.

A chorus of shouts and screamed finally registered in her as she drew closer to the door. The flames were reducing giving her a small path to pass through. She looked down at the small bundle in her arms. He had quite down, now tucked in the safe arms of his mother. His big glossy eyes stared at her. A tiny arm reached for her.

She cooed as she almost burst into tears. A line of tears trailed down her face as she continued limping forward " Don't worry my sweet child, mummy's here.. you're safe now".

A small burst of cooing noises and incoherent babbling sounded as the child held onto one of his mother fingers. Lucinda sniffed and hiked up her child higher and closer to her body as she braced herself and push through the flames.

Hollows of people shouting 'bring in more water!' and 'she's still in there' filled the corridors as the servants attempted to die down the flames.

The shadow of a figure emerging from the entrance caught their attention.

"Its Lady Lucinda !" someone exclaimed. Limping out from the fire, clutching a bundle close to her chest, patches of her clothes were dirty and burnt; dark patch of dirt covered her face sweat glistened on her skin and made her hair stick to her face.

But the look she gave them all was brighter and hotter than the fire behind the determined mother. Anger and judgment stared back at them in bright flame of vengeance and they all trembled where they stood.

Woe to them all....
