Prologue - I am a Dreamer

' Why is it so dark in here?... I can't see a thing. '

A thought came into mind.

Pushed to move, but... 'I can't even move. '

Confused, trying to feel and, ' My surrounding feels heavy, like... I am inside of the water.'

A sense of realization transpires at this, ' Ah, I see, it's one of those dreams again. What will it be this time? '

I often had these dreams about a world, A fantasy world. We all had dreams like that, right? A world that is different from our Regular world. I used to have many different kinds of dreams like that.

One night I had a weird dream. It was about an unusual world, but it felt very real to me.

It wasn't vivid like dreams usually are. Even after I was awake, I could exactly remember what I dreamt. I thought it was just a coincidence, but from that day onwards, I always dreamt about that world.

I find it interesting. Living in a dream and remembering like it was real. I felt like I was living a different life, and I also often got confused between my reality and my dreams.

Which one is actually real?

So, I decided to write my dream in my daily journal. I wrote about that world, and all the exciting events I saw happening in it. It was like writing a fantasy novel.

I wrote about that world's "hidden secrets", I wrote about the life of important people of that world and their journeys.

I was living in my dream world. Writing about them, and then reading about them. It made me feel like I was controlling a whole different universe, but that was far from the truth. It was just a way to escape from reality.

Eventually after 6 months, or so, I thought I should post my journal online, and let other people read it.

I got different reactions from different people. Many thought it will be about some protagonist going around conquering the world, but since I wrote exactly what I saw in my dreams, most people were disappointed.

I wasn't a professional writer, I was a dreamer who wrote his dreams.

I was more of a reader myself than a writer because writers wrote with their imaginations and I was reading my dreams in a sense. In my dreams, I was like the third entity. Completely separate from that world and watching over it.

I watched how a simple world became a fantasy world, people struggled to become stronger and gained new unimaginable powers.

I watched the first demi-human being born, the first vampire coming into existence, gods and demons emerging, dragons, elves, dwarfs, and mermaids. It was a mess.

The world was going through an apocalyptic situation, and finally, after years of struggling, the two most powerful humans stabilize everything.

Ironic, isn't it? How with so many creatures, humans were the ones who prevailed again. People thought it was more like a history book.

Some said, " I should introduce the main character, and focus more on him, or her.", or " why does it feel like a journal, does the author have a God complex?" but it was not like everyone criticized it. There were some positive responses as well. Some thought, it was a unique style and liked it.

I wasn't hurt. I just wanted to know their opinion, about the world I saw in my dreams.

I was not a writer, nor a reader.

I am a dreamer.
