82 82. Fight on.

"Be careful." a redhead female human voice said as she took a fighting posture. A huge axe was hanging by her right side.

As for the person she told to be careful, the man was just next to her. He had his head fully covered so that even a single hair was not visible. The front of the helmet extends downward, covering the lower portion of the face and leaving only the man's piercing, fierce eyes visible through the slitted eye holes. The helmet was symmetrically split vertically into two colors; black and red.

The duo was Robert the ghoul vampire and Gwen the Draugr.

The first two turned person by Abraham. Around a week after Abraham has made them part of his vampire family, Abraham had started his evolution which took two years. Every now and then, they would participate in the war against the dalki to help other humans but both Gwen and Robert had taken Abraham's advice seriously to lay low and avoid fighting the dalki too much. Both had trained their Qi and most of their time was spent hunting beasts for crystal.

Right in front of them was two one-spike dalki. Both dalki launched at the couple immediately each taking a target.

With a keen focus and lightning-fast reflexes, Robert moved with graceful yet powerful agility. His movements were fluid, akin to a dancer, as he gracefully evaded the Dalki's relentless strikes. Every step he took was calculated, ensuring his defenses were always ready. Robert's primary concern was protecting his head, recognizing its vulnerability as a crucial aspect of his ghoul body. He skillfully raised his arms in a defensive posture, positioning them strategically to create a formidable shield around his head and face.

In close combat, Robert's approach was calculated and precise. He didn't rely solely on brute force, but rather on his newly acquired understanding of martial arts and combat techniques. He weaved in and out of the Dalki's range, expertly exploiting openings and vulnerabilities in its defenses.

Just then when the dalki's punch missed Robert, the latter's right fist moved like a blur, delivering a powerful strike that echoed with the force of his superhuman strength on the dalki's face. Robert did not waste a second to see what damage he did but instead what followed next was a second strike on the very same spot on the dalki's face.

And just like that the battle ended with just two punches.

At the very same time, Gwen has also finished her battle. Unlike Robert, she was much stronger but in the stats of agility and stamina, Gwen was not able to compete with him. Robert seemed to grow rapidly and Gwen was expecting it soon that Robert will be as strong as she was.

To compensate for her agility, she has bought an advanced pair of boots. The numerous killing of beasts have allowed them to get enough credit and bought some better beast armour.

Compare to Robert's fighting style, Gwen had a more attacking side. When the dalki came within her range, she swung her trusted axe making the dalki evade. Her relentless assault left little room for the dalki to counter, as Gwen continuously pressed forward, never allowing it a moment of respite. The dalki, battered and reeling from Gwen's unrelenting assault, struggled to keep up with her fierce onslaught.

As soon as an opportunity presented itself, Gwen activated the active skill of her advanced-tier boot. The active skill of that particular boots allowed the user to propel himself/ 2 meters forward or backward. This time, Gwen choose forward and as soon as the skill activated, Gwen was near the dalki. The unexpected movement cause the dalki to be momentarily dazed and Gwen took advantage to unleash a powerful strike, her axe cutting through the air with relentless intensity. The instance the axe came in contact with the dalki's head, it cut through it like butter.

Like that, both Gwen and Robert were able to kill each a dalki on their own. Both looked at each with a warm smile. Another battle they have successfully won.

*Clap, clap clap*

They suddenly heard a faint sound that seemed out of place. It was a slow, rhythmic clap that cut through the recent chaos of the battlefield. They turned his gaze toward the source and beheld a group of people standing before him.

The clap was coming from the person leading the group. Just behind him were two people. A young boy who seemed to have just become an adult and a beautiful young woman. On their face, both had a look of nervousness.

As for the person in front, Robert and Gwen had no idea who that was. The person was fully clothed and even his face was hidden by the hoodie's shadow on his head.

Both Robert and Gwen were unsure of the situation, not knowing exactly the intention of the 3 people.

"Wait here" Gwen and Robert heard the mysterious man say those two words to the boy and girl behind him and straightaway the person sprinted toward them. It was more appropriate to say that the figure teleported in front of her but the next instance the person was already in front of them.

Even with their astonished reaction time, they could not evade but defend themselves. The first attack was directed toward Robert's head. As Robert was able to put both his arms in front of his face, the attack hit them instead of his head.

The force pushed Robert's whole body a few meters away. Gwen seeing her beloved being attacked like that launched a ferocious downward swing at the figure. Yet even against such a powerful attack, the opponent did not evade but casually brought a dagger out from nowhere and parried Gwen's axe.

On the spot, Gwen came to the conclusion that their opponent was someone very strong and fast with at the very least an advanced-tier weapon.

While still analyzing the situation, Gwen felt a sudden grab on her hand, and the next instant the opponent pull her toward him, and at the same time the mysterious figure launched a kick at point blank.

Gwen found herself rolling on the group. Robert abandon the thought of attacking the person and rushed by the side of Gwen. He helped Gwen stand back up and again took a fighting posture to battle again.

Instead of an attack, they saw the man removing his hoodie and with a bright smile said.

"Look like the two of you have been training well. Even though I did not go all out, it is impressive the way both of you reacted and took the hit."
