25 25. "Best standard" intermediate gauntlets

Right on Abraham's chest, a big spider was present. It had eight red eyes with dark pupils. Abraham found 4 more beasts around his legs. They were also Aranea but were little in size compared to the ones on his chest. They were enveloping Abraham's legs with webs.

"Hell no, what a nightmare sight to see on wake up. A little later and you would be dinner for them." The system made a comment on the scene in front.

Using the Inspect skill, Abraham discovered that the remaining four beasts were of intermediate level. It looked like a mother with 4 children. Abraham was struggling to keep them out of his head. All five of the beasts specialized in mental attacks, and thanks to Abraham's huge pool of Qi, he was able to fight them by guarding his brain using the Qi energy.

Abraham also circulated some Qi around his legs and activated the second stage by coating his body.

The webs around his legs started to vanish bringing the attention of the beast back to their target. Due to the beast being on his body, Abraham wasn't able to use any attacks, thus using both hands, he had to push the big Aranea from his chest.

Abraham used his shadow control to hold onto one intermediate Aranea and threw a downward punch smashing the nearest beast. It got crushed under such force, and its beast crystal got out of its body and was rolling on the ground. Black blood got splashed everywhere on Abraham.

Even though it was an intermediate beast, the Aranea was more of an agility type and was focused on mental attack. Thus resulting in its low defense. The other intermediate Aranea got the time to react and scattered around the cave. Abraham didn't have the time to view the reward for killing an intermediate beast as he felt an attack on his back.

Using the flash step, he got to a corner of the cave. Then Abraham saw the Advanced beast. The fury in its eyes was clear. Abraham felt the intensity of the mental attack increased.

The Aranea was able to produce two types of attacks. A mental one and a web attack. If the web attack hit its target, the prey would get rooted to the spot.

When a web attack came at Abraham's position, he used the boulders on his back as support and propelled himself toward the place the intermediate Aranea gathered. All of them tried their best to escape but Abraham was quick and got hold of an intermediate Aranea.

Abraham lifted the beast in his hand toward the advanced Aranea who Abraham supposed was the mother. The big Aranea stopped her attack and let out a piercing shirk. The other intermediate Aranea escaped through the opening of the cave.

The situation was tense and emotional. But Abraham had to do it. He wasn't pitying them as if he woke a few minutes late or if he didn't escape the illusion, the Aranea would have already devoured him.

Abraham slowly closed his hand and the beast inside started to wiggle aggressively. Seeing her child in pain, the mother Aranea rushed towards Abraham without a care for her life.

Instead of crushing the intermediate Aranea, Abraham threw it in the direction of the mother Aranea.

Following that, Abraham prepared his most powerful range attack. He combined the Qi and blood energy and produced a swing attack. As the advanced Aranea got hold of her child, she saw an attack coming in their direction. The mother beast quickly turned and decided to take the full attack on her back while saving the child.

Unknown to her, the attack was too powerful and her last motherly act was useless. Abraham's attack sliced the mother in half but it didn't end. The attack got out of the other end and also sliced the intermediate beast. The attack was so strong that after killing the intermediate Aranea, it continued and hit the boulder wall. A deep straight mark was formed.

The bodies were still in midair when the attack happened and when the bodies fell, it was divided into two. On each side, the legs of the advanced Aranea could be seen hugging her child her body.

"I thank you for the wonderful dream you made inside of me. I was able to see my dad again and my mother for the first time. I gave my most powerful attack to spare you from any pain and give both of you a quick death." Abraham could not help but be touched by the beast's action.

Abraham could see the crystals inside the bodies on the ground. After picking them up, Abraham jumped and exited the cave. He then used the Shadow control to lift the Aranea bodies outside the cave and carefully placed them on a flat spot. He saw in a distance the other intermediate Aranea and decided to spare them and let them take the dead bodies.

Abraham gave a final look and jumped on the ground. After a few minutes of running, he found a tree and climb up.

Abraham opened his system and click the shop tab. He now had four intermediate beast crystals.

When looking through the shop, the gauntlets that he previously was was no longer greyed out. After selecting the item, a final message appeared.

After selecting the two intermediate Aranea and the Scordana crystal, an image appeared in his head. Abraham saw the three crystals he had obtained in a black empty space. Each of the crystals started to slowly move towards the centre of the room as if they were being attracted by something. Slowly the three crystals started to merge and until finally a gauntlet could be seen in their place.

When Abraham opened his eyes and looked down, the gauntlets were there on his hand.

Apart from the greyish-silver color, nothing stood out of the gauntlets in terms of appearance. Abraham opened the shop again and this time the gauntlet was no more there.

"If you are looking for the gauntlets they are already in your hands." The system said, sounding half confused.

"Unfortunately, each item in the system is a one-time item." The system answered. "Once you have created it once, the item may never be created again."

"Let me show you something cool." The system said. "Open up your dimensional portal using your shadow skill and place the gauntlets in there."

The system said the same word as it was described in the novel. Abraham activated his Dimensional storage and put the gauntlet inside. Immediately a message popped up.

[Weapon detected in Dimensional space]

[New skill shadow Equip acquired level1]

[Shadow equip activated]

As soon as the skill was active, clouds of shadow surrounded his hands and Abraham felt the shadows placing something on top of his hands. Then when the shadow clouds disappeared, the gauntlet he had put in the portal, was now on him.

It was like aninstant equip, with this Abraham didn't need to wear his equipment beforehand. He was ready to take on bigger prey.
