101. Another upgrade

During the canon event, when Quinn came to the throne room, he left immediately after placing the blood crystal on the podium that appeared near the glass pane that was holding the blood sword. For him at that time, Quinn thought that he had fully explored the tower.

But right now, Abraham knew it was not the case because looking through his wireframe vision, he could see much more than what the naked eye could see. First, he had looked in the center of the floor, and Abraham could see the outline of a tomb with a tube coming from the podium that was now underground.

But that was not just what Abraham discovered. Just below the throne, the outline continued showing a hidden entrance. Abraham draw closer to the throne and noticed something under the armrest of the throne. A small button that was hidden extremely well and without the dragon's eyes, Abraham was not sure if he would have noticed it.

As his finger gently pushed against the inconspicuous mechanism tucked beneath the armrest of the majestic throne, a soft, almost imperceptible click resounded in the chamber. Like before, the entire throne seemed to come alive, and the whole room started to vibrate.

The smooth throne beneath the throne's base began to shift, and the ornate seat itself started to glide noiselessly backward. To his expectation, a previously concealed entrance was unveiled – a narrow, descending staircase leading into the depths below.

Without hesitation, he descended the stairs, and with each step, the sound echoed throughout the entire room. The illumination guiding his way emanated from softly glowing crystals embedded into the walls, giving the passage enough light for one to see in front when walking.

Finally, Abraham arrived in front of a door. It was made of the same material as all the doors found in the tower but unlike them, this one was a single door. There was also no craving or design as the door looked plain. Abraham gave a little push wanting to find out if it was unlocked or locked but to his surprise, a creaking sound was heard as the door opened slightly.

Abraham swung the door fully opened and got inside the room. Once inside, Abraham found himself in an empty small room. Except for some crystals that were placed in the corner to produce light, the room appeared to be devoid of any physical objects.

As he glanced around, he noticed intricate illustrations etched on the luminescent walls. The images depicted scenes of a person with shadows around them. Amidst the drawings, there were also cryptic texts inscribed all around.

This was a training room, one that would teach the others how to use the shadow. There was a reason why it was present here. And that was due to the punisher having the shadow ability.

This entire room was just like an ability book. The words didn't need to be written down in a book, but it looked like all the techniques that the punisher leader had learned over the years had been drawn out and explained on the walls of this large room.

'In the past, it was a quick way to teach one your ability. You would lock them in a room, and with all the illustrations and text with no distractions, the person would get into a certain state. They would feel as if the words and text from the walls were coming out to them.' the system explained knowing that all the vampire leaders did it this way instead of handing out ability books.

This way, they had full control over who could learn the ability, and it was also proven to help individuals learn quicker. Some would find themselves inside for days or weeks and even then they would require to keep practicing.

The same thing Abraham had to do if he did not have a particular tool helping him.

As Abraham continued to hear all the notifications, a profound sense of happiness washed over him like a gentle wave, suffusing every fiber of his being. Finally, he was able to upgrade the shadow. This was the only power that was left behind.

Abraham was not sure if there was such a room in this tower, but he felt that it was the most logical place to find it. Alternatively, he would have to go to the vampire settlement and visit the Punisher castle.

Now looking at the shadow section inside the system, Abraham saw some more additional shadow skills. Previously with his level 6 shadow, he had unlocked a total of 10 shadow skills but most of the time, he has just used mostly 7 of them.

[Level 6 shadow skills]

[Dimensional (Shadow Space) Storage]

[Shadow control]

[Shadow Cloak]

[Shadow Equip]

[Shadow void]

[Shadow Hop]

The previous skill [Shadow Travel] that was changed into [Shadow Teleport]

These were the skills that Abraham has constantly used but then there were 3 more that he had just unlocked but never got the opportunity to use them.

[Shadow Path]

[Throw a path of shadow onto the ground. Whatever set foot on it would be slowed for a short amount of time, and soon the shadow would start to disappear.]

The reason why Abraham did not use the Shadow Path, was because it was slow to come out, and it could only move in a straight line once thrown, making it easy for one to avoid and effective on slow-big targets.

[Shadow On]

[When touching someone, this skill allowed the user to put a small part of his shadow into someone else's. Doing so took up 30 MC points. All the skill did was allow him to take control of the target's shadow as long as he could make eye contact with the target. Shadow On allowed him to form a link. [Shadow control rise] If he didn't have eye contact, he couldn't use his Shadow Control skill to protect the target. Get too far away, the Shadow On skill would break, causing the slither of shadow that was with the target to break off and return to the user.]
