MY UNUSUAL ROMANCE

Chapter 10

"I just confessed my feelings to Olivia." The coppered hair boy gave Eileen an awkward smile before sighing. "She… rejected me."

Eileen looked at his pitiful face before patting Sean's head. "There, there… You've done your best."

"I guess, I'm just not her type then…"

She kept stroking his head until he calmed down from the heartache. He then smiled and looked at Eileen with sincerity. "Thank you so much, Lin. I'm really glad I have you by my side…"

Eileen froze for a moment before replying to him with a smile. "Don't mention it… I barely even helped."

As the morning still rises, the classroom is filled with joyous chatter and laughter. Slowly, a lot of students have arrived at school one by one. Contrary to the atmosphere they're surrounded to, Eileen stayed inside that gloomy, cold room called heartbreak. When Sean wanted to be alone, she simply left him in his desk.

Currently, she's heading towards the restroom to gather her thoughts that she failed to do so in the last few days.

As she arrived, Eileen stared at her own reflection on the mirror for the time being, her hands holding against the sink counter. She hasn't been able to think about her actions that time.

It's been three days since the kiss. It's been bothering her lately, yet Olivia acted like nothing happened. After their exchange of lips, Olivia is as nonchalant as ever! It's as if the kiss was just her hallucination!

When Eileen realized her feelings for Olivia, she was starting to get self-conscious around her. Everytime they're together, it makes her fidget and nervous about every little thing they do. It made her feel uncomfortable.

She paced back and forth through the little space given by the restroom, mumbling a few words to herself as if she had gone crazy.

"This is bad… If this gets out of hand, our friendship will be over… What to do…"

She continued pacing through the room until she halted. "Wait a minute… Olivia didn't get mad at me for kissing her… Does that mean something…?"

Eileen looked at her reflection again, clearly showing her distressed face before mumbling again. "Does she… like me..?"

"Girl, what are you doing?" A girl's voice echoed, making Eileen flinch.

"Savannah..? Ah, I was… uh, fixing myself." She immediately combed her hair with her fingers clumsily.

"You were talking to yourself just now."

"..."

"...Is this about your nerd friend again?" Savannah crossed her arms and smiled, as if she's sneering.

"Don't call her a nerd."

"Haha, my bad." Savannah supported her whole body against her arm on the sink counter, tilting her figure at the side. "You always look troubled whenever you think about that… about Olivia." She almost uttered the word 'nerd' again. "Did you two fight again?"

"No, nothing like that happened… We're actually okay."

"You don't have to bottle up your worries and leave it as it is. If there's a problem, I advise you to resolve it immediately before it brings you trouble. If you need help or anything, don't hesitate to ask me, m'kay? I can be a friend you can lean on."

Eileen's eyes widened when she heard those comforting words. She pondered for a moment before her eyes sparkled with hope. She held Savannah's hands and said: "Thank you. I'll keep that in mind." Without hesitating, she instantly left the restroom.

Eileen won't know Olivia's feelings at all if she keeps mulling it over inside that small restroom. She decided to confront Olivia, alongside her feelings for her best friend. This could break their current relationship if she acted out on an impulse.

However, if the feelings are mutual, their relationship could lead to something more. Whatever happens, Eileen already decided to accept all possible outcomes that may come whole-heartedly. All she needs to do is to gather enough confidence to confess.

Eileen went back inside the classroom and noticed that all of her classmates were already here to start the class. Her eyes fell short on this one girl who just arrived, her bag settled down her desk and sat on her chair gracefully. She instantly blushed as she saw Olivia's alluring figure.

When she was about to approach her, their homeroom teacher suddenly arrived at their class early! He ordered all of his students to settle down and keep quiet. Guess she'll have to wait until classes are over.

The classes ended at noon. It is already lunch time. Eileen waited for Olivia to finish her food before discussing their feelings for each other. She was about to ask her to go somewhere private, when Mr. Borjah asked Olivia to help him again by sorting out some papers before sending them to the school president. Olivia naturally agreed.

After school, Olivia told Eileen that she'll have to stay at school for the time being because of club activities. Eileen insisted that she can wait for her to finish.

The sun was slowly setting and the sky was blanketed by the shades of red and orange. While waiting dreadfully, Eileen was tempted to go home and lie on her bed to sleep. She felt herself slowly descend to sleep from boredom. It was already 5 o'clock when Olivia finished her activities.

Not long after, the two walked home together until they're in their respective houses.

Just when Eileen was about to sleep, it dawned her that she totally forgot about the purpose of waiting for Olivia! It seems that her sleep was catching up on her that the concern over her head just slipped away. The chance was already there, yet she dodged it!

The whole day of trying to confront Olivia, fate doesn't seem to allow her so.

Before going to sleep, she ought to send Olivia a text instead, telling her to meet up early in the morning to discuss something important. Just as she was about to send, a message pop out of her screen from the very person she was about to text!

Olivia: Clear your schedule on the weekend, we're going somewhere pleasurable, just the two of us.
