Preparations for War

(*A.N. Just for reference the worms in this world, while standing halfway up, are about the size of a 6f (1.8M) man's leg, so they are bigger than your average worm... a lot bigger.)

'Alright now that that the time has come...' Luke looked around to find a couple of worms to spread the news, then spotted a pair, "Hey you worms there, gather up everyone and tell them to come to me, I have an announcement to make."

"Yes of course mother tree, we'll be right on our way", one of the worms stated. Then, both of the worms started to go around and tell people what the mother tree told them, soon enough all of the worms in the nest were gathered and Luke decided to start his speech.

'Oh Lord, not again, please come up with a better one this time, although they will like it regardless I'll still know I suck.'

"Hello my fellow worms, I have gathered all of you today for an announcement... WE WILL BE GOING TO WAR!" After Luke stated that the worms started talking to each other, he decided to let them soak the words in, and after a couple of minutes, he resumed his speech, "We will be going to war with the wolves... I know what you must be thinking 'YOU JUST WANT US TO KILL OURSELVES', well let me show you what gives me the confidence to fight one of the biggest groups of animals in the forest, MECHANIC GET OVER HERE!"

The red worm then started to crawl onto the podium and when they got there they noticed something weird on his head, it looked like a metal tube almost and in the back was a door able to close and open with a couple of balls on attached to it that can go into it while the door is open, he then opened the door and did a very strange looking movement that put the metal ball into it and closed the door, he then did something strange the worms and Luke included had no idea what happened but when it happened the ball shot out of the metal tube vigorously, when the ball touched the tree it busted trough the tree with passion then exploded while the metal pieces of the ball went everywhere and where ever they landed destruction lay behind them, it was a spectacle, like watching a firework show.

This little demonstration made everyone exclaim, even Luke. 'I guess he's called a mechanic for a reason, he must have made a lot of additions to the cannon for this much destruction to be done.'

"Hey, mechanic how much ammo do we have that is the same as that."

The worm replied with pride, like his child, grew up to make a difference in the world, "About half of the 10000 cannonballs are the same, you see when I had the breakthrough I started to also put some contraptions into the cannonball, instead of just the cannon, specifically they are-"

"Don't care mechanic, all I care about are results, As you can see people we have gained weapons that will decimate the wolves, so go and pick up a cannon, and 10 cannonballs each and equip them, if you are a soldier of course. After you get used to the weapon we will attack the wolves. Meet up, here again, tomorrow and don't be late that will be when we go to war."

The worm soldiers started to go to the mechanic to collect their cannon and cannonballs, while the other worms went back to their duties. Almost as fast as night came day came right after.

In a place near Luke.

"ALRIGHT MEN, ARE YOU READY FOR THIS OPERATION?! THAT WAS A TRICK QUESTION THE ANSWER WAS YES NEVER NO. REMEMBER WE ARE HERE TO GET THE RED WORM AND ONLY THE RED WORM, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU KILL ON THE WAY THERE, JUST TRY TO KEEP IT TO A MINIMUM."

The soldiers were decked out from top to bottom they had green camo on, pistols, AK47s, Molotovs, and grenades.

"ALRIGHT SOLDIERS, MOVE OUT."

All of the 100 soldiers there ran into what looked to be a portal.

The next day.

Every worm was gathered at the same spot they were at yesterday, this time with a lot more of them with cannons on their heads.

"Alright worms, we will attack the wolves and WE WILL WIN!"

All of the worms started to cheer and yell.

"Alright settle down." They kept cheering and yelling, "SETTLE DOWN!" This time his voice caught the worm's attention and they all settled down, "I will now tell you our battle strategies, not all of our soldiers will be going, this is the disadvantage of attacking, we need to station about a quarter of the soldiers at the home base as the wolves after learning of our attack could flank us and attack your home. So split up into 2 groups, the defenders and the attackers."

After a little bit of time, they got into 2 groups with more of them being on one than the other.

"Alright here is the plan..."

Luke then explained all of the battle strategies he thought of while waiting for the mechanic to finish building the weapons of war.

"That's it worms, I have a couple of last things to say. First, mechanic worm I need you to lead them into battle, since I can't follow you worms there I need you to use your judgment to tell when you should use the battle strategies I gave you all. Last of all, good luck, and don't fail me out there, I know you worms have to power to make it to the top so give them a run for their money and let them know the worms mean business." The crowd of worms started to cheer and yell until Luke told them to go and attack, "ALRIGHT SOLDIERS GO OUT THERE AND KICK SOME WOLF BUTT."

The attacking worms then left with the mechanic worm in front to go to war with the wolves.

'Well I've done all that I can for these worms I can only hope that they will bring back good news. I don't know what it is but I feel as though this won't go as I have planned.'
