"Alright, time to get training. I will teach you how to use a trident, the trident is a special weapon, if you can use a trident correctly you can control fish and the ocean itself. When you finish this training you should be able to use trident intent, don't rush it though, trident intent can be different for different people, just figure out what a trident is to you and you will be able to harness a little bit of the tridents true power."
Luke listened to what the merman said with content, he didn't know what trident intent was but he was sure it was amazing and like that Luke began his training.

1 year later.
Luke was still in the 1st beginner master spirit realm, almost every second in the past year Luke was training his proficiency with the trident. He had gained the skill, trident intent, the surprising part for Luke was that trident intent was a qi technique, but one of his main status skills. Luke concluded that trident intent didn't rely on qi, but one's own experience.
In the past year, Luke only spent two months practicing moving the trident with water qi. He spent the next six months after that sparring with the merman, Luke inferred that the merman was many times stronger than the squid whale.
The next four months up to now were spent learning, practicing, and polishing his trident intent. In those four months Luke was figuring out what a trident meant to him, to Luke a trident was not just a weapon for killing, but a way of the ocean, of the fish. A trident reflected on the sea, the waves, the fish, the sand, the water, a trident was a way for the ocean to communicate to him.
"Luke, your time is up. You have grown a lot stronger since the beginning of your journey with the trident, go out there and show them the way of the mermen. Never forget the way of the trident, although you are doing well with it, you have a lot of room to grow. Take this trident and go show them hell, goodbye."
After the mermen gave those parting words he threw a trident at Luke and disappeared. The trident was a sparkly blue, and it gave off a lot of pressure, Luke threw it in his inventory. The water around him started to turn pitch black again. Soon enough he lost consciousness.

Luke woke back up and when he did he felt a fiery hell next to him when he looked to see the source he remembered where he was and gave a smirk.
"You think you can flaunt fire in the ocean? You are more naive than I first thought."
Luke then took the trident out of his inventory and started to control it. He threw it at the fire fist and infused it with trident intent. The trident went through the fist like a knife through butter, after flying through the fist, the fist started to break down. The trident didn't stop there, it went all the way towards the elder. The trident did this all in a flash so the elder didn't have time to react, It rammed into his belly and before it did Luke made it turn fast so it would make a large hole in his chest. His every move with a trident used trident qi now so when he hit the elder with the trident a lot of trident qi was used, he went through the elder's body extremely easily, and just like that the elder died.
After the elder died it was like someone paused a movie, everyone stood still and looked over. When they saw the dead body of the elder, the fish rejoiced, but the other elders started to worry. The elder that was killed was the 5th best elder. Although he was weakened when fighting in the ocean, he still was strong. The sect leader looked over and was confused, 'The dragon was about to die a second ago, yet now he's full of energy. The pressure he is giving off is a master spirit realm cultivator, how the hell is in the master realm, he was just an advanced spirit cultivator a second ago.'
What happened next though was a surprise to everyone, Luke looked at the whale dead in the eyes and said something to him in his mind, 'I'm leaving now, I've done my part.' After saying that Luke used his water gun technique and since he had a lot more qi at his disposal now it was a lot faster than before.
He swam like a bullet into the open gate, the sect leader was stunned so he couldn't react fast enough when he tried to stop Luke from leaving. Just like that Luke left the area, he felt a bit guilty, but after thinking about it for a bit he let go of the guilt, 'Why should I care? The whale is strong enough to escape on his own, and I don't even know the other fish much.'
After thinking about that for a second Luke looked around him and only saw a dark ocean, 'I guess I have finally escaped from my cage, I am free now.' Luke's first thought was to escape from the ocean, but he gave that up soon. His first objective should be to evolve, and he needed a lot of gene points for that. The ocean had lots of fish and resources to much on, so Luke wasn't worried that he would evolve, but now that he was in the real ocean he wouldn't be safeguarded by the barrier so he would have to face a lot of danger. Luke was ready to face all of the danger and to come out on top stronger than before.
Luke wanted to check his status, he hadn't in a long time, 'Status.'
