Surrounded

The moment dad declared the start, I casted all enhancement spells: Hermes's coat, time acceleration on my eyes, and circulated a huge amount of mana in my body.

My body was covered with a white glow; it looked like mist was going out of my body. Endric was slightly surprised, but he quickly got over it.

He didn't stay idle either, he casted his own spells on he was covered by electricity. All has body was enveloped by the blue thunder, and his muscles got firmer. His black hair stood up, and there was thunder going out from his eyes.

He looked really intimidating, maybe because the thunder was crackling and when it hit the floor it would leave a scorch mark on it.

I decided to enhance my vision even more.

Time acceleration times 35.

After training and practicing Time Acceleration more, I was able to push my limit to 35 times.

Me and Endric looked at each other's eyes and dashed at the same time. We both left a blur and in less than a second we were a meter apart.

Endric lifted his arm, pulled it back, and threw a punch at me; I quickly dodged to the side, and raise my knee to hit him in his stomach. But as it was going to make contact, I could feel my knee hitting a hard surface.

He managed to block it using his knee.

We both back away at the same time. I could feel my knee getting slightly numb; it was probably because of the coat of electricity running through Endric.

I decided not to block it with my body next time. I was about to create some gates and attack using Heaven's Cannons but before I could do anything, two bolts of thunder traveled towards me in an insane speed.

I quickly casted gate and was barely able to block the attack. The two bolts entered the gate, and got out from the exit behind Endric.

He quickly dodged the bolts by jumping high in the air. I took the chance to hit him with Heaven's cannons, and two exits appeared simultaneously, one behind Endric and the other in front of him. I threw the silver bullets which traveled through the gate and shot out at a great speed towards Endric.

He was surrounded; the bullets were close to hitting him, when all of a sudden Endric disappeared. He was nowhere to be seen; I look around but couldn't spot anything.

I didn't know what he did.

I was confused. I look at dad and he just shrugged his shoulders and didn't say anything.

*tchch* Out of the blue, I hear the sound of some leaves; I turn around and see Endric, rushing towards me.

His fist was coated with fire and the thunder on his body was denser. I threw some silver bullets in his direction but he easily dodged them.

He jumped towards me and threw his fist at me. I took a step back and casted a spell.

Azriel's Reflection. Endric landed on the shield and punched it. His hand stopped. The fire around his fist subsided and suddenly Endric was thrown away from where he came.

He slide on the ground for 7 meters until he managed stop.

He looked at me and said:

"Nice defenses you got there, I haven't managed to hit you since we began." I managed to defend every attack Endric made till now, but still I haven't attacked yet.

*boom* I powered up Hermes's coat even more and circulated a greater amount of mana in my body, my power up made a booming sound and a shockwave that pushed everything in 1 meter radius of me.

The white glow on me got thicker.

*boom* I dash towards Endric with a huge force that the ground caved in when I launched.

Endric powered up too and the thunder around him got even denser and the sound of the crackling was louder. He didn't waste a single moment and dashed towards me.

We were apart by 7 meters but we met in the middle instantly. I threw a punch at him and he quickly parried it by raising his left arm and pushing my hand to the side, and followed it with a right strike. I catch his fist with my hand, but instantly he moved his other arm and grabbed my hand. He then tightened his grip and threw me over his shoulder to the ground.

I quickly made a gate under me just before I hit the ground and went through it; I got in from the exit that was positioned over his head.

I quickly casted Heaven's cannons and with it 3 gates formed that surrounded Endric in a triangular formation. From them, twenty silver bullets got out and headed to Endric from three directions.

I smiled, I have caught him.

But before any bullet hit, Endric disappeared once more. I didn't know what happened.

I kept thinking and tried to figure it out. Endric has 3 affinities: fire, thunder and Shadow.

I knew what happened, Endric had the ability to merge with the shadows, so that is how he most likely was able to disappear and reappear somewhere else.

I kept looking around and see where he would come from.

*Bump* I felt a poke in the back of my head and quickly turn around to see that Endric was pointing at me with his finger. He had a smile on his face as he said:

"Wow Eddy, you are very strong and you are just 10." "I didn't even manage to hit you once, I was totally defeated." "Don't say that. First, you are still very young and could probably beat most of my classmates, you are one of the very few who push me to use the Shadow affinity and twice. You have amazing defensive spells and very good instinct." "He's right Eddy, although you didn't win but your performance is outstanding. I can't picture anyway your age or even three years older winning against you.

Your speed alone is terrifying; you managed to keep up with Endric even though he has an affinity related to speed. You managed to block Endric's attacks and even throw them back at them, and managed to put him in the corner twice by surrounding him in attacks." Dad spoke while walking to us.

I agreed with him, but kept thinking of various things. All my spells are deadly;

against Endric I can't use Solomon's judgment and Heaven's death arrow. But what bothered me the most that when I touched Endric I tried to use Solomon's seal but I felt that his mana was blocking me, I could've casted it but it would take me more time.

Either I should put more mana into it, or the one that I use it against should have way less mana than Endric. I decided whenever I was going to use it; I will pour a huge amount of mana to suppress my enemy's mana.

I also have to invent new spells that I could use in spars with killing anyone; I didn't want to just spam Heaven's cannons and gates.

And the most important thing is improving my hand to hand combat, Endric and dad may say that I am very good now, but still the way Endric handled me and threw me in the air and parried every hit was humiliating.

But on the bright side, this spar made me realize many things and most of all how much I loved sparring. We were about to go back home, when we heard a screech along with heavy steps that made the earth tremble. It was coming from the forest toward us.

Dad stood before us and spoke:

"Monsters, they came after they sensed the earlier fight, they think they would find corpses here to eat." As dad finished, we heard growls behind, more monsters came and we were surrounded. I look around and saw many monsters coming out from the woods.

There were 20 goblin riders and 5 hobgoblins with their Great wolf mounts, but that was not all.

There was 3 orcs, they were 2 meters tall, they were very muscular and all 3 of them carried a one handed axe. And lastly came a group of 3 monsters; two giant ogres, at least 3 meters tall with big wood clubs placed on their shoulder. Behind them, probably the boss of this pack, stood a huge creature.

Its skin was grayish blue; it was very hairy and stood 7 meters tall. He carried a 4 meter tall tree trunk on his back. It was a troll.

"Get behind me, they are dangerous" Yelled dad.

"I will take care of the two ogres and the troll. Endric you take the Hobgoblins and the Great wolves. Edward, you face the goblin riders. With your strength I am sure you can take them all out." "Yes father" Me and Endric Spoke as we both took position to face our enemies.

"Genesis" I take out Genesis; I plan to finish these monsters in one fell swoop.
