TWO FACED

After Elliot finished reading the story he was surprised I his little sister wasn't asleep like always. He turned her to face him. "What's wrong Didi," He asked the little creature in a soothing voice. She looked to be in deep thought her little pink lips slightly pouting while her little hand held her chin with her little body trying to balance her relatively large head.

It was both adorable and funny. Hearing her big brother inquiry the little girl motioned him to the bookshelf, pointing at a particular book with her tiny finger.

He took the book out and again placed her on his lap and opened the book allowing her to flip through the book landing on a particular page. He then pointed at a specific character in the book.

The book was about a prince who was searching for a bride and during his quest found a beautiful woman. But that was no woman instead of a dreadful and evil ogre who transformed into a beautiful woman in other to get close to the prince with the plan of killing him and ruling the kingdom.

"Oh, you think lady Baude is an evil person disguised as a beautiful woman pretending to be good." Diana was quite surprised that the little boy was able to decipher the meaning of her actions without much explanation. She smiled and nodded her head.

The little boy let out a little chuckle. "Wow, my Didi is so smart. Don't worry if she's the ogre then Father is the prince." In the story, the prince knew that the beauty was actually an ogre is disguised but was pretending to oblivious in order to lure the wizard who transformed the ogre out of hiding.

Diana nodded and leaned on her brother's chest as she listened to him read the story once again. Jake was naturally a great leader. He was wise, cunning, perceptive, and many other things. But a fool he was not he would never fall for that two-faced woman. A smile formed on her lips when she remembered the vile bottle with red liquid 'If you are going to commit a crime make sure you clean up properly Lady Delilah.' Sleep found it's way to the little girl's eyes as she fell asleep with a big yawn "Things are going to be really entertaining."

The next morning, for some strange Jake that we have breakfast together. Delilah sat on the left side while Elliot and I sat on the right. Elliot fed me while I listened to the conversation between Jake and Delilah. "Would you like some sugar, dear." Jake's smile was creepy. "Thank you, darling," Delilah responded not noticing. I shivered with fear, what is this damn guy thinking with such an ominous smile.

Elliot seemed to feel his hostility too a few goosebumps had appeared on his hand while he fed me whether it was out of anger or disgust is still anyone's guess the guy's stone face was impenetrable. Annoyed that this loving act has gone on for too long. I giggle and clap my hands to gain their attention.

"Oh," Jake got up and pick me into his arms. Elliot was obviously displeased. He returned to his seat and placed me on his lap while he fed me. "Look at how well she's eating. Isn't she cute, Lady Baude?"

Delilah seemed taken aback, just a few seconds ago she asked him to call her Delilah and he did but he seemed to have done a 180 in just a few seconds. Of cause she's surprised but the fact Jake can switch from good to bad in just seconds is every day for us.

"Ah, my Didi is truly the only woman in my life." Jake declares with a huge smile. I know that smile and from personal experience, it will not end well. I see a Delilah flare with rage but immediately covers it up when Jake glance's at her. It must really be a lot of work maintaining two faces. I must watch out cause it seems like, I'll be the new target of her schemes.

I can see a small amused smile appear on Jake's lips. Damn you, what can of father deliberately put his daughter in harm's way this time even your handsomeness will not make me forgive you if something happens to me.

"Oh, my offspring is so precious." Jake resumes a warm expression as he hugs me to his chest. Wow, someone gives him an Oscar for his great acting skills and a Nobel prize too for achieving the feat of signing your own daughter's death certificate while she is still living and breathing. Tsk.

Delilah promptly excuses herself saying she is not feeling well and leaves after taking Jake's permission. Of to scheme now aren't we. I have to think of a survival plan. I know I can just stick to Elliot this should increase my chances of survival at least a little. Sticking to Jake is just me taking the death certificate and signing it on my own. Considering the fact that Jake is a ticking time bomb and I'm not sure whether he has given up on the idea of killing me. Delilah de Baude, I'm afraid you're gonna have to rethink your plans cause I will not watch quietly.
