8 Chapter 8 I want to quit

Mason, walked into his condo and then went straight to his bathroom. He took off his clothes and then immersed himself in cold water in his bathtub. This was his way of relieving stress.

After about two hours, he got out of the bathtub and then covered himself in a bathrobe. He didn't care about the cold he had gotten from sitting in cold water for too long. Compared to the pain he felt in his heart, the cold was totally nothing and incomparable.

He walked out of the bathroom and then went straight to bed.

At exactly 6:00 a.m., Mason was up ready to go to the office. Living alone in his large condo, breakfast was just a luxury and too time-consuming. So after taking a bath, he went straight to the office to complete his work.

With his identity, this was the life he was used to. For others, it seemed torture, tiring, and everything but for him it relieved him. To hide his heart, he buried himself in work something not everyone did especially at his age.

"Mr. Armani it is already 10:00 am aren't you going to school today?" His secretary checked his watch and then said. Ever since Mason had started working in the company he had served him he had a great admiration for him.

Not everyone could do and cope up with what he did.

"I'm almost done," Mason said immersed in work.

After about half an hour, he had completed his work, he stood up picked up his bag, and got ready to leave.

"Should I drop you off?" His secretary asked.

"No need, I'll take a taxi handle the rest, and then send a report to the chairman," he said as he walked out of his office.

Mason arrived at school when everyone was doing self-study in class. He walked into class and then went straight to his seat not bothering with others.

"Aah, I almost thought you skipped school, I was so lonely," Miles said acting like a drama queen.

"Didn't I tell you I'll be going to the office first," Mason said as he sneezed and coughed suddenly.

"Aaah! You did wait did you catch a cold?" He asked worriedly.

"No, it's nothing," Mason said.

"What do you mean it's nothing? I bet you were in a bathtub for two hours, ah you never listen I clearly told you not to shower for more than an hour, I knew this would happen good thing I prepared medicine," Miles said as he took out a box of medicine.

"I'll go fetch warm water," he stood up.

"I told you, no need," Mason said but Miles had already gone.

As soon as he left, Sky walked toward where he was.

"Smarty Pants, about yesterday..." he said but was immediately interrupted.

"I'm sorry about yesterday I was a little under the weather," Mason couldn't help but reply quickly.

"Oooh, is that so?"

"Yes, do you need anything?" Mason asked.

"Ooh, I brought this," he lifted his book.

"Homework?" Mason was a bit surprised. He didn't know Sky would take the homework thing too seriously.

"You promised to..."

"Sure, I keep my promises,"

"Then, I'll leave you to it," Mason took his book and then placed it on his desk. He didn't think much but he promised himself that he would guard his heart more properly.

"Are you still doing his homework after what happened yesterday? You should stay away from him otherwise when you get involved too much you might end up getting hurt," Miles said as he placed the tumbler on top of his desk.

"I want to quit," Mason said after a while.

"Are you serious? How can you just quit school because of a heartbreak? What about me? Have you thought about me? What about your dad? How can you be this selfish," Miles said his eyes were on the verge of tearing up.

"What are you talking about idiot,"

"Wait, did I get it wrong? Aaah! This is so embarrassing just tell me what are you planning to quit?"

"The tour guide thing with Sky," he said.

"Oooh, that you should have just said it you made me overthink," Miles whined.

"But why are you quitting? Shouldn't you find a replacement then?"

"Yeah, I should," Mason said calmly.

"Didn't you say they were French visitors? Where will you get someone who can speak French fluently like you?" He asked.

"I don't need to get one,"

"Why?"

"Because he is already looking at me," Mason smirked.

"Who? Where?" Miles looked around but suddenly realized the person Mason was talking about was him.

"No, I won't do it," he bluntly rejected.

"The Super Moto you wanted," Mason said.

"Deal," he immediately said but suddenly realized he had agreed too quickly so he asked," Have you told the teacher?"

"Not yet but I will, after class,"

"What reason will you give?"

"I'm not like you, I'm sure whatever reason I will say it will be more believable and reasonable unlike yours," Mason tapped his shoulders.

"Did you just look down on me?" He asked.

Miles was known to be the kind of person who came up with one of the most unreasonable excuses and reasons. Any reason that he came up would automatically be considered absurd or a pure lie even when it was the actual truth.

After class, Mason went to the teacher's office.

"Mason, when did you arrive? You could have just taken the day off," the teacher said with a smile.

"No need, plus I finished my work,"

"That's good, so why did you come to see me?" He asked.

"I want to quit being the tour guide," Mason said calmly.

"Why is that?" The teacher asked him.
