Marriage night

Finishing her drink, she watched Darius move to the other chair, an open laptop on the table in front of him. The sleeves of his shirt were pushed up, exposing tan, muscular forearms, and there is a frown of concentration on his face. He looks serious—and so devastatingly beautiful that her breath catches for a moment. She felt the need to applaud her past self for being able to ignore his charms.

The housekeeper made her soup and light vegetable salad. "Here, Madam." She nodded.

She concentrated on the puzzle of Darius's behavior instead. He could be domineering and possessive one second then suddenly he will change into a caring gentleman. Even in bed, he is both fierce and gentle. Does he have two personalities?

"Stop staring at me and eat. You will need the energy to complete the rituals of our marriage night." She blushed.

She didn't want to argue so she lowered her head and obediently ate her dinner. Her stomach growled and she was suddenly starving. In less than a minute, she had devoured everything, and looked up, slightly embarrassed by her greediness.

Darius just watched her. It has been a long time since he saw her eating something so heartily.

"Darius, I am so tired today. Can we skip...…"

"You won't be able to shrink your responsibility as my wife." he interrupts with a curt dismissive gesture.

And before she could come up with an excuse, he was next to her, swinging her up into his arms and bringing her toward him for a deep kiss, his tongue pushing into the recesses of her mouth. Still holding her in his arms, he walked somewhere, and Aelin was too far gone to care where. They ended up in the living room, and he lowered her onto the couch, still kissing her with those deep, penetrating kisses. Leaning over her, Darius lifted the dark mass of smooth hair off her shoulders, revealing the tender spot of her nape. Bending down, he kissed it lightly, his mouth feeling hot on her sensitive skin. She shivered from the sensation, and he moved lower, kissing his way down her chest.

Aelin inhaled sharply from the feel of him buried in her, and she felt like she was burning from the heat of him inside her, over her, all around her. And then he began to move, his thrusts pressing her deeper into the arm of the couch. Every muscle in her body tensed, and she cried out, each stroke intensifying the agonizing pleasure, until her world narrowed to nothing and she passed out.

…..

In the dining room, Darius was seated on the head of the table, having his breakfast.

Aelin scanned the dining table and sat in the seat right next to him.

Seeing that the girl had actually sat next to him, Darius looked at her in astonishment. This was the first time they were having a meal together as Aelin would always remain in her room and try to hide from him as much possible.

"Good morning." She greeted Darius with a smile.

Darius stared at her in curiosity inspecting her every expression. Feeling his gaze, Aelin looked down and started eating slowly.

"I am going abroad tonight," Darius said.

She was surprised that he actually told her, usually he used to come and go as he pleased. Maybe they both are opening to each other.

Feeling happy at this observation, she asked, " when are you coming back?"

"One week. If it takes longer than two weeks."

Aelin's complexion immediately turned white. Truth be told, she was still scared, she doesn't want to stay alone. Although Darius is scary, she at least feels safe with him. Her fingers trembled. She tried to resist her body from shivering.

Noticing her changes, Darius clenched his fist.

"Do you have anything to say?"

Aelin begins to encourage herself. She can't stay like a coward. She will have to step outside if she wants to grow stronger.

"Darius, I want to….. Can I apply to a university?"

"No." Darius directly rejected. Even though she should be angry at his reply, she actually sighed in relief.

"Then, can I go outside?" She asked hesitantly.

Darius kept silent. Her series of questions reminded him how it was last time, and an uncontrollable temper rose in him. The atmosphere in the house slowly chilled.

Aelin knew he would not allow it even before he said it. She was frustrated at herself for not being able to overcome her past life trauma. Her aura became gloomy. 'You said you want to protect him but how will you protect him if you can't even hold a proper conversation with him?' she scolded herself.

She asked one last question and hold her breath, "Do you know anything about my family?"

Hearing the last question, Darius exploded. He suddenly slammed down his spoon.

"One more word about this nonsense and I will lock you back in that island. How many times have I told you? I will give everything you need. You just have to be mine."

Ever since she has been reborn, she has been trying to improve their relationship and change her future. But, she has been failing miserably. Her life doesn't seem to be changing into anything better. She doesn't understand why was she reborn if she has to suffer everything again.

She inhales slowly, not wanting to start crying again.

"You kidnapped me, Darius... you forced me. Who in the right mind would not escape from their enemy, their capturer? You are my nightmare. But I am still trying to open up to you. If you don't give me this chance, what should I do? I don't know anyone in this world. You said you will give me everything I need but I have nothing to live for anymore."

After she said everything, she ran towards their room, locking the door from inside. She laid on her bed and cried.
