Kidnapped

The explosive sound of gunshots jerks her out of sound sleep. Her heart hammering, she sat up.

The familiar sound of gunshots and occasional screams filled the entire hospital.

Trying to control her ragged breathing, she pulled the IV from her arm and got to her feet. Casting a frantic glance around, she looked for a hiding spot, but the only cupboard in the room was too small for her to fit into. There was no other place to conceal herself. Staying there would be suicidal. she needed to get out, and she needed to do so immediately.

Padding barefoot toward the door, she opened it just a tiny bit and peeked out into the hallway. There were several men and they were opening various doors as if they were looking for something or someone.

She started trembling because she instinctively felt that someone was definitely her. The sound of gunshots stopped. But she didn't feel relief. She completely dreaded it because it would mean that one side won and observing the situation the winners were definitely not on her side.  

She felt something piercing her from her back. She stiffened. She didn't notice anyone else in her room before. She turned around. Mia was standing there holding something that looks like an injection.

Before passing out, she remembered that she didn't check the washroom.

The room was icy cold. There was a man sitting on the hospital chair beside a bed releasing a murderous aura. In front of him was an injured man kneeling. If look closely, one could see him trembling.

"It was my fault for not being able to protect Madam."

Jeff didn't give any excuses because he knows that their Master hates it. Due to emergency they needed to take her to the hospital. Without Master's authorisation no one was able to access the private hospital in the mansion.

"Go and receive your punishment."

Darius was not in the mood to care for his subordinates lack of capabilities. He just wanted to know where they took his precious girl, so that he can capture them, skinned them and torture them for touching what should not be touched. As for his subordinates, they will get what they deserved for failing their duty.

When they were the only two left in the room, Qin said, "it was the triads. They have joined hands with a terrorist group based in country R and they have been snooping around for information on Project Future. It is difficult to identify the exact number of sleeper cells in the country X currently even with our wide network of spies and assassins. As we have discussed before, during this period of time, the safest place for Madam would be the island."

"Do they know about her?" He asked slowly.

"No, Madam's identity is still confidential. All her traces have been erased. There is only one file which is in your hands. No one can assess this information without your permission. They must have kidnapped her to pressure you. They have been facing various opposition and difficulties running their business in this country."

"Then, where is she?"

"It would take two more hours to pinpoint the exact location. This is the doctor's report on madam's recent condition. Madam's case holds seventy percent similarity to other nervous breakdown cases. After this incident, I think madam's health would worsen."

Darius let out a deep sigh. He has been noticing her behavioral changes since the first time they had sex. She was acting strange. He thought it was her usual tactic of creating troubles. Seems he was wrong. Something must have happened.

"Check all the people she met in the gala last time. Report every incident to me." He ordered.
