1 The Reunion chapter One

Jenifer was sitting at the Breakfast Café eating an apple cinnamon scone and drinking some hazelnut coffee, she was working on her laptop doing a journalist story for Memorial day, which was on tomorrow. It was Sunday morning, the spring air in Batesville, AR so crisp. Jenifer was finishing up her article, when she noticed someone sitting at her table. Jenifer looked up. "Ellis Rosemare what are you here?". "My Jenny, you're as beautiful as when I left." Jenifer rolled her eyes, "Is that supposed to be some form of an endearing compliment, Ellis you left me at the wedding altar."

Ellis had a goofy grin on his face, "Jenifer, please if you'll allow me to explain, I will tell you everything. "Ellis, I don't think there is anything left to say." Jenifer stood up, she put her money on the table, she closed her laptop, she tried to walk without acknowledging Ellis, as she began to walk pass him, he took her arm and pulled Jenifer closed to him he kissed Jenifer on her lips, Jennifer reciprocated the kiss back, forgetting she has a boyfriend now, Elliot. Jenifer broke free from the kiss, she was surprised as she saw a shocked Elliot standing at the door. Elliot, it's not what it seems, Jenifer hit Ellis on the arm, "I hate you for this, just leave me alone." Jenifer passed Ellis, and went to Elliot, "Elliot, we need to talk." Elliot agreed, "Yes, Jenifer we do need to talk."
