As Mark finished reading the notification, he had to admit it wasn't what he expected. He remembered not long ago that the Voice mentioned 'trucking him up,' which sounded like something else.

But no matter how he read it, Mark could only think that the challenge was to hit three people with his truck.

'I need to check my second choice first as there may be some pattern. '

He had chosen another Skill, a Knowledge Skill, which cost only 1 Truck Coin. Its name was <Minor Meditation>, which actually taught him how to meditate, which would increase his recovery rate a bit. Even if the effect sounded helpful, Mark didn't think he couldn't learn something as simple as meditating by himself if needed.

So as he focused on the Skill and picked to check its challenge, another panel appeared.

'As I thought. The challenges are the same, just with different targets and amounts. But the amount seems to be the same as the Truck Coins needed.'

Mark had given a quick glance over the C-Rank Skills and noticed that their price was over ten Truck Coins, with the most expensive being at twenty. So, if his assumption was correct, their challenge was to target ten to twenty people to earn a C-Rank Skill and even more for higher Ranks.

He also understood the targets had to have some connection with the Skill's name and nature, which could help him guess it without checking it.

As for the mention of levels, even if he knew he was Level 1, he had seen in the C-Rank Skill list a Skill called <Power Aura Eyes>, which allowed him to see the level of others within a limit. So since there was a Skill like that, there had to be someone he could use it to, or so he at least assumed.

'Why am I really thinking about those challenges? '

His thoughts surprised Mark, as he was thinking about the possibility of killing people for something he was unaware of what effect would have on him other than what he could read. Each Skill description wasn't too detailed but was enough to have at least an understanding of what the Skill was about.

But soon, Mark got rid of those thoughts, as that was all they were. He still didn't know how 'trucking' someone worked, and even if he did, he didn't know where his truck was.

As he had finished that thought, another notification appeared in front of him.

Do you want to start the tutorial?

YES / NO

Note 1: Declining will earn you a reward

Note 2: This is your only chance to do so

Mark's eyes widened as he finished reading the notification, which brought him into a dilemma. If he lacked something over, his current situation was information and tutorials meant to provide information to their users.

But if he picked no, he could earn a reward, which could be Truck Coins to use, although at a cost.

He kept thinking about which side was more beneficial to him. Going through the tutorial was the safe way, but in the end, he decided not to do so. It was a risk, but his guts were telling him it was the right choice.

As he picked the <NO> option, another panel appeared with the image of a closed chest. Mark pressed it with his finger, as it reminded him of loot boxes on some mobile games, and the moment he did so, there was an animation on the image, like he had just pressed play on a video of a chest opening.

As the chest opened, a light came out of it, and a sphere came out of it with a smaller image on it. The image was of another chest with the symbol of Truck Coins on it.

A smile formed on Mark's face as he finished reading the notification and closed it. Next, he opened his [Inventory] and noticed a change to one slot, which had the exact image of the chest from the previous panel.

He pressed on the chest, and he got a panel in response.

'Only a single one? Was it because of my Luck being at 0? '

Mark had found it weird that all his Stats were at 10 except his Luck. In some games, Luck allowed them to get better drops and items from chests, so it was always good to increase it, but Mark did not know how to do it currently.

Either way, he got enough <Truck Coins> to get one Skill at least. But he was in a dilemma now, as there were two Skills he wanted to choose from. One was <Appraisal>, which should allow him to learn what's wrong with the phone.

But since he already knew about the <Standby> condition, which was because of lack of energy, another Skill had drawn his attention—- <Minor Energy Manipulation>.

MINOR ENERGY MANIPULATION (D-Rank)

Description: The user can control energy like a part of their body. Depending on the energy source, the user can use it in multiple ways, including healing.

Cost: 1 Truck Coin

The Skill sounded like what he needed in this case, but finding a charging cable should do the same if he just needed to charge it. So after a couple of seconds of intense thinking, he made his decision and picked his Skill.

As the notification appeared, Mark felt a tingling in his brain. It was like he had just realized how he could do something he had forgotten how to do so. He felt a tingling like something tried to draw his attention, and he quickly pinpointed it to be the energy socket near him.

He went with that Skill because he didn't know if he could even afford to get a charging cable. Because the phone was an old flip phone, its charging cable was also not the typical one used by most phones. Of course, it shouldn't be that expensive, but Mark wasn't confident about how much his insurance would cover his hospital stay, especially since he had been here for quite some time.

As Mark closed all the panels he had opened, he next focused on the energy socket and tried to focus on that new knowledge he had earned. Even if it was his first time trying, he quickly understood how he needed to focus, but not that simple.

He felt like he was grasping something, but it was fighting back, and he had to restrict it first. He closed his eyes to focus better, and as he did so, he visualized himself with a yellow ball in front of him.

He was currently standing up in his visualized state and tried to grab the ball, but it kept moving before he could do so. Mark, of course, didn't give up, as he kept trying to go after the ball, but it kept escaping his grasp.

As time passed, and Mark continued trying to catch that ball, he realized a few more things. Even if he had earned that Skill and had some understanding of it, it still wasn't second nature for him how to use it, but he was slowly understanding. It was like he had read a detailed description of its theory, and now he could finally put it into action.

After some time, he noticed he could focus on keeping the ball still without actually touching it, but for now, that stillness was close to a second only. When the second passed, the ball kept shaking itself, leaving his grasp, as he didn't have enough time to have a firm one.

But as time passed, Mark was improving and finally reached the point. He could keep it steady for four seconds, which was enough for him to clutch it. Then, after he made sure that it couldn't escape, Mark opened his eyes and looked at the small yellow orb in his hand.

The one in his mind was large as a basketball, but the one in his hand now was small as a marble.

Next, Mark picked up the phone and brought it closer to the energy orb he had created. As he did so, he focused on moving the ord into the phone, which was much easier to do than he thought, or at least compared to creating that energy orb.

As he finished doing so, Mark finally noticed a few open notification panels, which he had subconsciously ignored as he was intensely focused on keeping the energy orb under control.
