My Transmigration Daily Life

My name is Jay Oaks and I live a normal life, or well 'lived' a normal life, until I passed away at the age of 24. After my death I awoke to a place that looked almost the same but without a bunch of machines doing the hard work, and instead people having the ability to lift cars with their mind, create fire out of thin air and even fly. And this begins my adventures in another world.

Day-1 Questions and Sleep

The foreign voice rang inside my head, as I looked around in utter shock. Ace looked at me curiously before examining my talent.

Wait! My talent! I looked down at my hands to see if anything had changed, and found that they had become a dark shade of gray. I could see neither my nails nor the lines on my hands, I could only see the familiar, yet depressing, shade of gray.

I looked at Jay in awe when I saw his talent. He had become almost invisible despite being that gray color, no he had become like a shadow. Ace smiled in satisfaction after finding out this troublesome boy's talent.

Ace, busy thinking about his accomplishment, had failed to notice Jay frantically looking around.

Where did that voice come from and wh-why am I gray?!

'Hello, Jay Oaks. I am Shade.'

Once again the voice resounded in Jay's head, leaving him with more questions than answers.

"What are you?!"

Jay managed to stifle his shout, but failed to completely hold it in. Lucky for Jay, Ace was still buttering himself up.

'I am Shade, your helper.'

The voice supposedly named Shade, answered with another short monotone reply. Jay was about to ask another question, but was interrupted by a certain someone's laughter and an arm swinging around his shoulders.

"Haha...Sorry I lost control, It's late why don't we head in for dinner?"

Although Ace had asked, he was already walking and pulling me along with him. I was still a bit upset about him yanking me here in the first place, but I was hungry and tired so I followed silently.

"Here you go boys! Roast chicken and mashed potatoes."

We sat at the table and ate, while Jasmine chatted with me. After we had eaten, Jasmine led me down the hall to a bedroom. The bedroom was clean and tidy. It had a desk in the right corner and a big window overhead along with my bed on the left. I laid down on the thick blankets and started to ask Shade questions.

What do you mean by helper? Why are you called Shade? How did I get a talent? Why weren't you here earlier? What is my talent?

'I will answer your questions about this place and help maximize your talent. I am called Shade, because I am specific to your talent. You had to unlock your talent first. Your talent is shadow.'

Shade replied in a mechanical voice with no hint of emotion. Jay sighed as the reply left him with thousands of more questions and looked up at the starry sky before drifting into a deep sleep.
