My Transmigration Daily Life

My name is Jay Oaks and I live a normal life, or well 'lived' a normal life, until I passed away at the age of 24. After my death I awoke to a place that looked almost the same but without a bunch of machines doing the hard work, and instead people having the ability to lift cars with their mind, create fire out of thin air and even fly. And this begins my adventures in another world.

Day-1 Job offer

I sat on a partially ripped leather couch and drank instant coffee from a plastic cup. Across from me was none other than the CEO of Amara, Ace Cross. As well as the woman who had let me in.

"It's been 2 hours and you're already coming for help?"

Ace felt a bit irritated at the fact this boy, whom he didn't even know the name of, was disrupting his work instead of simply calling. But Ace knew that this kid was either an idiot or something was wrong. And with that in mind Ace inquired about this boy's predicaments:

"What's your name and what's your problem?"

Jay was surprised he actually asked and was reminded that he hadn't introduced himself Ace.

"Oh my name is Jay Oaks and I'm 24. My problem is that I'm new to this place and I have no phone or money..."

While this was indeed true, it was not the full truth. Like it being a completely different world, possibly universe!

"Wow, okay. Do you have family that can help?"

"No..."

This was true as he had family but none that could help.

"Do you have a job at least?"

"No..."

"Sigh...Oh! Hey sweetheart do we have enough money to hire someone?"

I was startled by Ace suddenly talking to the woman who hadn't said a word this whole occasion, none the less calling her 'sweetheart'.

"Infact we do, as well as a job position."

"Great! Then It's settled, you can work for us and live here for the time being."

Ace clapped his hands apon arriving at a conclusion. Jay was taken aback by the sudden job offer, but he had no reason to say no and it would solve a lot of his problems for the time being. Including getting answers about this world.

"If you don't mind..."

I thought for a moment before deciding to ask the question that had recently started to bother me:

"What exactly do you guys do?"

"Oh we help solve problems for people, but lately there hasn't been much buisness due to the incress of high ranked talents."

This time it was the woman who answered. While I was at it I decided to ask one last question for the time being.

"What are the 'Talents'?"

"Oh the talents are the abilities everyone has. I thought everyone knew that."

"Oh Jasmine could you start getting dinner ready?"

"Sure thing hun."

The woman named Jasmine replied while walking into the kitchen to my right, while Ace gave me a stare that clearly said he was suspicious about my questions.

"So what's your motive?"

Jay was taken aback by his rude tone as he had been speaking kindly when Jasmine was in ear-shot as well as his question.

"What do you mean motive?"

Ace knew there was something wrong about Jay, his peculiar questions only strengthened his suspicions. First, when they met he asked how a woman could create fire and how the construction worker could lift the beam. The big giveaway was when he asked what talents were. Everyone knows what talents are even people who live in caves or mountains!
