1 Chapter 1 : ครอบครัว (Family)

Joseph Cai Santos. That's my whole name since my father left my mom and did not marry her, I have no middle name since I am using my mother's last name as my surname. By the way, you can call me Seph.
I heard a knocked on my room...
"Seph! Seph!" my room mate, Vin. "Are you still sleeping, it's already 6:00 AM, we will be stuck in traffic on our way home" Vin continued. "I'm done preparing now." I answered.
I grab my bag and my luggage bag and open the door and follow Vin outside our dorm to his car. We load our luggage at the back and I went on the passenger seat next to the driver seat. Vin is now starting the engine and we are now leaving on our dorm house.
While on the road...
Vin: What will you do on our vacation break, bro?
Seph: I just stay at home and help mom run his small eatery business just like every year.
Vin: I see. Another boring break for you. I can't wait to go to the beaches. By the way, did you ever ask your mom, where is your father or even his name?
Seph: No, when I'm about to drop that question she always change the subject first and I don't dare to try again because I don't want her to feel that she's not enough for me.
Vin: I got your point, bro but I know also that you were curious about it and I know you wanted to know your father. No worries, if you need my help, just text, chat, call me for anything and I will help you. Money is not a problem.
Seph: I know, bro but you know me, you just listen to my problem and that will be okay with me.
Vin: I'm just saying that reach me if you need help. I know that you want me as your real friend and you never ask for anything except driving you home. Hahahhaa
Seph: My hometown will be on your way home. It's a win-win situation, I saved my money and you have a company while driving.

Arrived at Seph's Home
Vin: Wake up, Seph. Wake up. You're home now.
Seph: Thanks, man. Let's go inside. Eat with us, it's almoset luch time now.
I open the back of the car and get my belongings and go inside our house with Vin.
Almost 6 months that I am not here. I say hi to mom and go to my room upstairs with Vin. My room was still the same like I never left. My solar system theme bed, the poster of The Script band on the wall and the books that I still not finish reading on my study table. I felt relieved for the first time for 6 months. I still reminiscing while Vin is sitting on my bed when my mom called out our names to take our lunch. We go downstairs and sit on our dining table.
Mom: Vin, feel at home. Thanks for taking care of my son, I prepare a lot. You two, get your self full.
As we eat our lunch, I felt something weird towards mom, It felt like something is wrong but I don't want to ask it now, maybe later when Vin is not around.
After our lunch, Vin needs to go home too. He say his goodbye on my mom and left. I go to my mom's room to check on her and if she's doing okay.
Seph: Mom, mom.
Mom: Yes, Seph. The door is open, come in.
Seph: Hi, mom. How are you? Is everything okay?
Mom: To be honest with you, Seph. Everything is okay but lately your dad has been calling me and he wants you to meet him this vacation break, I can't agree on him since it will be your decision but I want you also to meet your father.
I was shocked for a moment because I can't believe that mom will let me know about this.
Seph: I want to meet him, mom but I don't want you to feel that I am asking for more and I am not contented with you. That's why ....

I was interrupted by the call on my mom's phone.
Mom: Your dad. Talk to him.
My mom reached her phone towards me. I answered the phone with a shaky voice.
Seph: Hello, Seph speaking.
Dad: Sawatdee krup, Seph. Sorry if you were talking to me for the first time using a phone. I know you have a lot of questions in mind but I want to answer it all personally so I can see you too. I am hoping that you want to meet me.
Seph: I'll be glad to meet you dad I will be waiting for you here at home.
Dad: Seph, I am living on Thailand, I cannot left my work here. Would you mind if you can travel here instead? Please don't worry about the expenses and your ticket, I already prepared hoping that you would come here.
Seph: Okay, dad. Will mom can go with me?
Dad: I already ask her but she said already rejected it and said that you and I should see first without her.
Seph: I see. I'm okay with it. Would you want to talk to mom?
Dad: Yes, please.
I give the phone to mom and go to my room. I don't want to be nosy on my parents conversation and I want to call Vin for this good news.
Seph: Hello, Vin. You will not believed what just happened.
Vin: Hey, Bro. What happened?
Seph: My dad and I will be meeting in Thailand.
Vin: What the f*ck? Seriously? When? I can drive you on airport on your flight.
Seph: I still don't know the details of the flight but dad said he already planned it.
Knock *** Knock ***
Seph: Wait, Vin. Come in mom.
Mom: Here's your passport and your plane ticket. I'm glad that you agree to meet your dad.
Seph: I am happy too, mom.
Mom kiss me on the forehead and go outside my room, I was checking the plane ticket and see that the flight is 3 days from now.
Seph: Hello, Vin. Still there?
Vin: Yes, I'm still here.
Seph: My flight is 3 days from now at 8 am.
Vin: Okay, I will pick you up on your home at 5 am.
Seph: Copy, boss.
Vin: I'm happy for you, Seph. I need to go, I have some errands to do.

I can still not believe what just happened today, I can't sleep because of this good news. I am keep on looking the glow in the dark stars on the ceiling of my room. I keep thinking what will happened when I see my dad in the flesh, what things should I talk about with him and what activities we can do to bond until I fall asleep.
