Caravan

Bang looked at Ligi incredulously. He didn't think that Ligi would be this devoted to him. It looked like Ligi really owed him his life.

'Well, whatever. Thats still extra protection for me.'

Bang decided to use Ligi to his fullest. This will increase his chances on surviving the wild without any powers.

"Hey, I'll go to Suno town next. Do you want to come with me?"

Bang asked Ligi this question. Ligi looked surprised and elated. He was needed and he had a purpose. Ligi bowed with his hand on his chest and spoke.

"Yes, please let me follow you!"

'Hmm yeah, this guy will be very useful.'

With the way Ligi is acting right now, when push comes to shove, he will definitely take the pain for Bang. It was befitting for someone on the tank class.

'We are definitely lacking some firepower right now. Oh right, couldn't I power up Ligi in the store?'

It looks like there are new upgrades to the options that's why it is so expensive.

'Hey system, crew power up.'

'WARNING! I do no suggest using this.'

'What?! Why?! I need the extra power!'

'Ligi has still not consolidated his power. It would be very risky to give him a power up.'

'How does he do that? Can I speed it up?'

'No owner, it will happen over time.'

'Hmmmm.....Fine whatever'

Bang stretched his hands and his body. It really feels good to be in a fit condition. His previous body really left him with no self-esteem.

Coupled with the fact that Bang was antisocial, he really never got off his apartment. Friends? He doesn't want one. Maybe because he couldn't make friends that's why he doesn't want friends, Bang didn't know.

It was weird to be traveling with someone. Before, they were both in precarious positions so they had no choice but to escape together. But now, they were traveling to Suno town on their own accord.

Bang felt weird, but it's good having a shield around.

"Let's go then."

The two started walking in the forest. Ligi didn't know where they would go but he trusted Bang fully. Because Bang gave him powers, Bang would also lead him to a better place.

Traversing through the forest, they didn't meet any creatures lurking about. It was weird that this forest was deemed to be a dangerous spot when there was not even an animal around.

There was only trees, vines, and bushes surrounding them throughout their walk. Thankfully, the forest was dim or else the sun would make this trip infinitely harder.

Walking for at least 4 hours, Bang realized his mistake. He doesn't have food. His stomach rumbled in protest. He looked back at Ligi and realized he also had no preparation for this trip.

'Hey system, where would we get food and water for this trip?'

'Information activated

Food and water : 20wp'

'Fine.... I'm really hungry right now.'

'Recalibrating map...

Please follow the directions.'

The map showed them to a direction that was to their immediate right. Bang gestured Ligi to follow him and they walked together.

After thirty minutes of walking, Bang could see the border of the forest. Out of the forest was a wide plain that is littered big boulders and stone.

In the middle of that plain was a stone road that went on for a long while. The road was almost 4 meters wide. It must have taken a long time to build this wide of a road for a long distance.

Once they stepped out of the forest and into the plain, Bang planned to go and walk on the road. As he was walking, heard the sounds or horses trotting.

He hid behind a large boulder and looked at the incoming noise. Peeking his head on the boulder, he saw a group of caravans with at least 2 horses holding one cart.

The carts were covered with a blanket and were surrounded by guards who wore strange weapons. Almost all of them wore sickles, hoes, and shovels. They had a rucksack on their backs while they walked alongside the cart. If Bang were to be blunt, he would say they looked like farmers.

They had no armor on but only thin long sleeves that were folded up to their elbows. They wore long pants that covered their whole legs.

One group though, wore nothing but light leather armor and steel swords. They looked around warily as they guided their horses.

Seeing their careful demeanor, Bang was unsure whether he should show himself. If they show themselves now, they might not hesitate and attack them.

The system suddenly gave a command to Bang.

'System, are you sure you want me to show myself? They might now be welcoming.'

'....'

'Fine...Fine.... I'll go.'

Coming out of the boulder, Bang suddenly appeared upfront. He had his hands up as if he was surrendering.

The guards of the caravan saw the sudden appearance of an unknown man and they readied their weapons. They stopped the horses and looked directly at Bang.

The farmers who had weird weapons took out something from their rucksack. Bang saw them take out an orange object. Looking closely, this object turned out to be a carrot.

Preparing for a fight, the farmers put the carrots in their mouths and took a bite. Their eyes suddenly glowed in a red hue.

Then, they took out another thing in their rucksack. This time, it was green and leafy. They took a bite but there were no physical changes to their bodies. But Bang knew that they were more dangerous than before.

The guards with the steel swords quickly took something out of their waists. They took out their swords and put some kind of oil on them. The glint from the swords made them look sharper than before.

They looked warily at Bang and Ligi. Some of the guards looked around, wary of an ambush coming from the sides.

Before Bang could even explain his existence to the guards, one of the farmers rushed to him and used a shovel. He didn't look angry nor excited, just a deadpan face with his eyes glowing red.

The attack was so fast in Bang's eyes that he couldn't dodge. He just closed his eyes and hoped for the best.

Thankfully, Ligi who was watching and waiting the whole time, pulled out his shield right in time. His shield grew from his skin and the bark of his shield scraped against the shovel.

The shovel that was deflected by the shield was now on the ground. The wielder of the shovel, in the other hand, now laid on the ground after being blown away.

Silence reigned throughout the whole caravan. Only the horses' neighs could be heard.

Seeing their comrade down on the ground, they became even more alert than before. This new powerhouse was powerful enough to defend against a boosted farmer.

The other farmers went to the injured farmer. They were surprised that the attack they did had backfired. They looked in the direction of Ligi and was about to take another thing from their rucksack when they heard a sound.

In the caravan, the door suddenly opened. What came from the door was a man with a very unhealthy figure. By unhealthy, Bang meant really really fat. Even fatter than his figure back on earth.

The fat man looked at Ligi with interest and curiosity in his eyes. A man with that power was surely someone with a powerful background.

"Hello, might I ask what you are doing here in this backwater road?"

The fat man only looked at Ligi and ignored Bang. He even bowed to show respect.

"We came here to ask for a ride to Suno town."

Bang stood up and fixed himself. He spoke the words that was given to him by the system.

'....'

Not expecting the other man to respond, the man looked confused. He almost scolded the man who spoke but his years and years of being a merchant told him not to. The powerful man with a shield clearly protected this man. This meant that the guy with a shield is only a guard that protects a powerful person.

"Suno Town? What a coincidence, we also happen to be going there. I'll be happy to let you join in my caravan."

Bang was relieved. He was parched and starving from walking through the forest all day. He wasn't sure he could continue to do that until they reached Suno town. He didn't even know how long it would take to get there.

"Thanks.... I'll be sure to help you in protecting this caravan."

Bang then proceeded to follow the fat man back to the caravan. Ligi was still wary of the guards who were looking at them warily. The fat man noticed this and scolded the guards.

"Okay enough, the misunderstanding is solved. You can now all go back to your posts."

After he had dismissed the guards, he looked back at Bang and spoke.

"How rude of me, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Tab, how about you?"
