Su Yang ran through the marketplace back to his sect. Yang Ding has his eyes on him. Well, he ran straight to his sect's account without taking any sidetracks so Yang Ding wasn't worried.

He is an honest lad.

Just exchanged all of the monster cores for money and came back running to me.

Xin is the currency that works in these lands.

Yang Ding wasn't sure how much Xin the sect had paid him from the cores but from the looks of it, it wasn't so much that he can be happy.

He sprinted back to the lane before Su Yang could reach there and looked at the poverty-stricken family at last.

It was a family of three.

An old mother.

A daughter, a bit younger than his age.

And another sibling who was still in his growing age.

They had so little food that they had to give it to the son rather than eating themselves.

There just wasn't enough.

Sigh.

"These people…"

"They have stopped even trying to live a decent life. I never want to be in their presence again"

Yang Ding turned around to find Su Yang with the money.

"How much is it?"

"Why don't we buy some foodstuff for them and see if my master is pleased?"

Su Yang was elated ta the thought that his effort hadn't gone to waste. At least they will find food for themselves even if at least for a day. In his mind, he wished Yang Ding's master the best of wishes.

If he had known that the existence of the master was but a lie he would have cursed himself.

"Yes, I look but them in a moment"

Su Yang left with the money

"There goes my money on a stupid experiment"

"I don't have food on my plate and I am doing charity here. Haha"

"Laughable… so laughable"

The impoverished family that was watching Yang Ding from afar was scared by his mad laughter.

"Cough"

Yang Ding stopped himself considering the time and place. He didn't want to be dubbed as a madman along with a cripple.

"This place isn't his sect where I can act as I like."

It didn't take long for Yang Ding to come back.

In his hands, there were two bags of ration along with the change.

Yang Ding didn't ask much.

This was an experiment, to begin with.

He snatched the two bags of ration and snatched them from Su Yang. Then he passed them to the mother and daughter pair.

They were hesitant at first but their hunger won out and they accepted.

Yang Ding shouted at the top of his voice. The family has jolted aback in fright at what might have happened.

"Brother Ding Yang?"

"Ah Nothing, I found out that my master was pleased by all of this. SO that's why I am happy!"

"Your master? Where Is he?"

"Ah! You can't see him. He is in a very high cultivation realm. Impossible for mortals to perceive him"

"I see"

"SO are you done with your mission?"

He shook his head

"Not yet"

For some reason, Su Yang had a beaming smile on his face after that.

"I have to partake in more of such deeds to complete the mission"

"Okay! So what do you plan next?"

"We will go to your sect"

"Huh?"

"We will go to your sect" Yang Ding repeated.

"But what does my sect have to do with all of this?"

"With time you will figure it out"

"Let's go for now"

"Okay let me show you the way"

"No!"

"What do you mean?"

"You go ahead and enter your chambers and I will lurk behind you and enter the same cause I doon;t believe a cripple like me will be accepted with open arms in your sect"

"I guess you are right there"

Su Yang shrugged.

Both of them left the family to eat on their terms.

They weren't there to witness that the ration that they had donated them, they choose to keep it aside for a time the younger member might need it or for a time when they were on the brink of death from hunger.

Yang Ding sprinted behind Su Yang.

It wasn't until long when Su Yang entered his sect finally entering his chambers. Sneaking in Yang Ding followed behind.

"Woah!"

"What happened? Do you want to inform the whole sect that I am here?"

"No no, you came all of a sudden"

"Of course I would little brat. Why was I following you if not for that"

"But you have a missing leg..."

"I have my ways. Don't think I am a useless cripple"

"I see. I never thought you were useless since you could hunt that many monsters"

"Anyway we have to think with the matter at hand"

"What the plan?"

"We have to raise money to complete my mission"

"How are you gonna do that. If we are getting more monster cores shouldn't we go back to the wilderness?"
