18 Chapter 17 - And so it Began

It's been almost a month since Ren meet Yakumo and nothing much changed in the life of Ren, he goes to mission with his team, he train as much as before, sometimes with his sister Sakura teaching her some basic first aid, improve her chakra control using waterfall running exercise and other times some simple physical exercise that she completed reluctantly.

What changed was that on his free time Ren meet with Yakumo ,where they chatted just about anything and sometimes he had dinner with her parent, this was something that Ren did to free himself from the bad parts of begin a shinobi.

But today after the mission Ren noticed something 'There are some new faces in the village...that mean that the chunin exam will start more or less in a week...notice to all parents of Konoha, hide your kids 'cause Pedomaru is coming...now should I give some hint to the Hokage? if yes how?'

While Ren was planning another things happened in the studio of the Hokage Mansion where the 3rd Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi meet with all the jonin of Konoha plus the chunin-sensei of the academy.

So the Hokage start "You've all been assembled for only one reason and it should be obvious to all now" soon we can hear murmuring of various ninja about of it is already that time, and of they noticed some guest of others village then Kakashi ask "So when is it?" and the 3rd replies "In a week" then letting out a puff of smoke "well to be precise I'll announce it properly in 2 days from now, on the first day of the seventh month the chunin selection exam will commence"

Then he continues"Now, firsts we'll hear from those who are watching over the new genin team,Kakashi,Kurenai,Asuma and Hayate...well are there any new genin that you would like to enter in this chunin selection exam?"

"I do not have to tell you but after a genin has completed a least 8 mission they may be nominated by their sensei, of course completing more that is the norm, now starting with Kakashi"

(AN: I noticed that I never described Kakashi and even if everyone know how he is ,I did so with every character I introduced so here is it)

Kakashi Hatake has spiky silver hair often oriented to his left-side, dark grey eyes, and typically a relaxed and lazy expression. During the Third Shinobi World War, his left eye was damaged, leaving a vertical scar from the injury. The eye was shortly afterwards replaced with a Sharingan, which he covers with his forehead protector when he isn't using it.

Near-constantly, he wears a mask that prevents most of his face from being visible. and is outfit is Konoha's standard infantry clothing a flak jacket, dark blue pants, and a long-sleeve shirt. He also wears fingerless gloves with metal plates on the backhand and is seen with a chain necklace underneath.

Kakashi come forward and say "The Kakashi lead team 7,Sasuke Uchiha,Naruto Uzumaki,Sakura Haruno...under the name of Kakashi Hatake I nominate them to take the chunin selection exam"

Then was Kurenai turn, Kurenai is a fair-skinned woman of slender build. She has long black untamed hair reaching her upper back, and very unique eyes that are red in colour, with an additional ring in them. She wears make-up consisting of red lipstick and purple eye shadow. Her regular outfit consists of a red mesh armour blouse with only the right sleeve visible. Overall, this is very broad material which resembles bandages with a pattern on it similar to those of rose thorns. Her hands and upper thighs are also wrapped in bandages and she wears the Konoha forehead protector and regular shinobi sandals.

"The Kurenai lead team 8,Hinata Hyuga,Kiba Inuzuka,Shino Aburame...under the name of Kurenai Yuhi, I nominate them to take the chunin selection exam"

then was Asuma ,Asuma was a tall man, with brown eyes, olive skin, short black spiky hair, and a beard. His clothing consisted of the standard Konoha ninja uniform with the sleeves rolled up half way, flak jacket, regular shinobi sandals and forehead protector. He also wore a sash that had the kanji for "Fire" marked on it around his waist, a pair of black bangles, and bandages wrapped around the arms of his sleeves.

"The Asuma lead team 10,Ino Yamanaka,Shikamaru Nara,Choji Akimichi....under the name of Asuma Sarutobi, the same as to my left"

And in the end was Hayate turn "The Hayate lead team 17,Ren Haruno,Taro,Jiro...under the name Hayate Gekko, the same as the others"

Soon after that Iruka interrupt saying that as their teacher it was too soon for them to take the exam but was soon shut down by Kakashi and then they continued with their meeting.

After a while Ren meet with his team and they received the application paper for the chunin exam and then were told where to and when turn 'em in.

As Ren was going back home on the way he meet a visibly depressed Sakura so he reached her and asked"Sakura what's up? why the low mood?" with a sigh Sakura replies "I kinda do not want to take the exam as I can barely keep up with Naruto and Sasuke-kun, but Kakashi-sensei said that we have to take the exam as a team and I do not want to let them down..."

'Let's see if I can use just a little of that dreaded technique even if I do not want to touch it but as a very old man once said it's for the greater good' so he stopped his sister and looked right in her green eyes "Listen well sis, you are teamed with the best genin of this generation after me that has some cheat bloodline in the form of sharingan and a kid with so much chakra that he can almost sell it to all the village to use and still have some for himself and you can "barely" keep up with them, do you not understand how amazing you are..."

Before a stunned Sakura he continues "You, my sister are the best Kunoichi of our year" 'now let's quote the great Kamina maybe this will work better' "Don't believe in yourself. Believe in me! Believe in the brother who believes in you!"

Sakura stood still for a few second then with a resolute look took a kunai a cut her long hair "You are right Ren!".

Ren nodded and then with a warm smile said "Good now let's go home and make mom fix your messy hair..."
