76 Boring

Beth pouted in irritation, seeing that he was guarding his secret with all he had. Why would the system hide something from her? Did he have another master or something? She quickly shook her head, dismissing the idea. Such a thing was impossible. 

She had been the only one in the possession of the metal bracelet so far after she had found it accidentally. Maybe she was being too paranoid, Beth thought, staring at the man's soft features. Her eyes fell on the ruby-red lips of the system, and suddenly she was reminded of that night. 

She licked her lips hungrily as she tugged at his sleeve, calling for attention. The system raised his brows- much like how she remembered him doing so the night that he treated her wounds. He had promised that he would tell her why he kept resisting all along. But it didn't look like he had any plans to do so. 

"You had promised me something before," Beth said, a smile tugging at the right corner of her lips.
