She reached the place five minutes before the appointed time and was looking around to find a suitable place to sit and talk with her friend. She will do as she had planned, there was no going back. Although she tried to act tough and keep calm, she could not hide the sadness which she could not mask with anything.

'Uhh... So troublesome' Annoyed with herself she ordered a few drinks and looked towards the entrance.

"Here" She waved a hand towards her.

"So what's with the sudden meet up today?" Rose entered and asked her after a short hug. She then sat on the nearby empty seat and took a drink already kept for her. She then looked towards Jess in a questioning gaze.

Jess: "Uhh... Nothing much. We didn't meet for a long while didn't we?"

Rose: "Jess something is wrong. Even if you try to mask it or hide, you probably can not from me. So just tell me right away what is it. You do not look good. And before you start talking sh*t, I would like to remind you that you don't do 'Casual meet up'. Tell me what is going on?"

After listening to her speech, Jess didn't know whether she should laugh or cry about the fact that her friend knows her a bit too well.

Jess: "Okay. Fine." After a sigh, she continued with a smile, "Rose, when I say this, I am very much serious okay?"

Rose: "Just spit it out already" She was getting impatient by the second

Jess: "I am getting married. And before you say anything, I am happy with my decision"

Rose was shocked for a moment, unable to decipher the words her friend had just said. Finally, she took some deep breaths and calmed herself.

"Married? Like for real? I ... I do not know what to say." After a pause and a sip of her drink, she continued, "Congratulations" She said with a genuine smile "So how did you meet him and who is the lucky guy"

Jess: "Uhh..." 'Oops what to say now?' She looked everywhere but her friend.

Rose: "Jess what is going on?" She asked with a serious expression.

Jess: After some hesitation, she finally told her the truth, "I have not met him, not as yet and I do not know his name. He is the son of the father's best friend and our parents agreed upon this. I think this is best for me..... And the feeling of love might not be present now but it can be cultivated over time"

Jess didn't know who she was trying to convince, herself or her friend.

After some time, Rose finally showed her support.

"It is okay if you deem it right. I will support your decision"

Jess had a small smile on her face. No one knew her better than her friend.

"Thank you," Jess said. "So lets drunk tonight. Nothing can stop us from doing what we want to do"

They laughed and had a few glasses of their drink.

Rose had seen the sadness in her friend's eyes but she decided to support her.

They headed towards the center of the room and joined the group on people on the dance floor and danced to the beats of the music.

They seemed to have lost themselves among the music and people, their bodies were not in their control, it seemed as if it moved on its own. Nonetheless, they danced beautifully.

Nothing seemed to miss John's eyes. He was confused. He could not understand what was going on.

He was sure that he had seen the sadness in her eyes but he could not figure out the reason that caused it. His heart was in pain. He saw her dismissive smile and ultimately resolved to drink like there is no tomorrow. He slightly shook his head.

'Why am I thinking about her again?'

He tried to get into conversations with his friends but everything was in vain.

After a while when his eyes found her, she was dancing on the floor, her moves were sexy?

He felt a certain reaction in his lower body. He was mesmerized by her.

Some random men were dancing around them. At first, he just casually ignored them but his mood turned sour seeing that he was not with her. He noticed that something wrong was going on there.

Jessica was completely oblivious to the fact that the man dancing beside her had some ulterior motives. First, he slowly started dancing with her, then he placed a hand on her shoulder, next his hands moved downwards and stopped at the arch of her back.

Before the situation turns bad, John rushed and put himself between them and tightly hugged Jess.

"Heyy man what is your problem? Can't you see I am dancing with her?"

John: "You know what exactly is my problem, you are dancing with her"
