"Don't eat too much. Tomorrow would be your 18th birthday."

"Just one more slice and I'll fix myself for sleep."

My father, Don, keeps on reminding me to limit myself on the feast in front of my eyes. As much as I hate that, there was a reason why he is doing it so.

Just as he said, tomorrow would be the day when I will be turning 18 years old.

'What's special about that?'

Besides that I can finally legally drink alcohol in all taverns, it is also the day where I would be able to have my 'Inheritance'. The two of us are having a small feast today here in our house because tomorrow will be a busy day for me due to that exact reason.

Inheritance Ceremony. Every person in this world is bounded to have an Inheritance Ceremony. Rich or poor, good or bad, so on and so forth.

The only exceptions will be those who died before they reached 18, but that is not of my concern.

Throughout my life, I have been preparing for this very day. Training my body, reading books that look useful, and asking for advice from adults who had their Inheritance Ceremony.

Because once you get your Inheritance, life will officially begin.

"What are you doing looking at the ceiling. Instead of doing that, go take a bath and sleep."

No matter what my father says, this would be the turning point of my life, especially my love life. Once I get my Inheritance, Maria cannot help but fall for me.

'What is an Inheritance? Oh, I have not explained it yet.'

As people born under the hands of Teph, the Creator, every individual was given supernatural powers to live in this world. Except these supernatural powers do not show until a person is 18 in age. That is why almost every person has their life flip on their 18th birthday.

These supernatural powers are supposed to be our inheritance from our God that is why it is called 'Inheritance', simple as that.

Yet, recorded Inheritance ranges from minuscule power up to controlling the weather through a flick of a finger. That is how every person is almost unique when it comes to their Inheritance.

Although luck is a huge part when having their Inheritance decided. Countless scholars have studied ways to ensure and predict what an individual will get on his 18th birthday, but nothing is definite yet.

As I say that, there are still some promising studies to improve the chance of getting a good Inheritance like training your body to an ideal condition. That is why I have done everything I can to have the perfect Inheritance.

I wish mine to be super cool like a transforming dragon that shoots flame not only through his mouth but can also summon elementals to fight for me while I use destructive magic from far away. But a one-hit punch Inheritance would also be nice.

*Kick*

"You useless idiot! Stop daydreaming and go back to your room. I won't be waking you up tomorrow."

"Ok~"

'This old man... When things were just getting better. Oh well, I should sleep early because I don't want to be late for the Ceremony tomorrow.'

I went to my room after sneaking once more slice of tomato pasted bread.

The Ceremony should be starting at 8 in the morning with two more people who will be also joining the Ceremony. My plan was to stand out alone after getting my amazing Inheritance, but if some random people also have their Inheritance Ceremony, there is a chance that I would be overshadowed. Oh, well, nothing I can do.

I was also able to invite Maria to my Inheritance Cemerony after giving her a lot of presents using my savings. But I am sure that is a good investment because after she saw my Inheritance, she will fall be deeply in love with me.

An amazing plan if it wasn't for those random people.
