250 Stormy club!

"...."

"Ehhh?!"

"Irido-kun is going to join the concert band club!"

"Eh?! Am I dreaming? I am not dreaming, right?!"

The ones that caused the most noise were the girls, as they were so happy with his appearance. There was no doubt that he was the most popular guy in the school.

His personality was impeccable, his physical ability was monstrous, he was the smartest, and more importantly, he was the most handsome.

With all of those specs, it was simply strange if he wasn't popular.

Frankly, even if he had one or two quirks, such as being an otaku or having a fetish toward an older woman, he would still be popular.

However, as he didn't have such a strange quirk, his popularity was as high as ever.

Still, while they were surprised by his appearance, they were even more surprised by his words.

"Eh?!"

"Irido-kun is going to join the concert band club?"

"That's great! I can see him every day now!"

"Shh..! Be quiet! Act more graceful, okay?"

Nevertheless, even if one girl tried to remind her friends, she kept staring at her appearance through her smartphone's front camera so she could be sure that her appearance was beautiful in Mizuto's eyes.

"....."

Oumae Kumiko's lips twitched when she saw how crazy the girls had become. Yes, she knew that this Mizuto was popular, and even her friends in her class often talked about him almost every day. While she had to admit that his face was her type and she might even feel lustful about it, she knew that this guy was a scumbag who dated two girls at the same time!

At the same time, Kumiko glanced in Reina's direction since she knew that if there was a reason Mizuto decided to join the concert band club, it was definitely Reina.

Was it because of yesterday?

Like Reina, naturally, Kumiko was frustrated by how the upperclassman acted, but with her passive personality, she didn't think to fight the current and just let herself drift along with the flow. Moreover, during middle school, she had a horrible experience with an upperclassman. At that time, she was chosen as the main player instead of the upperclassman, causing this upperclassman to get angry and drop her euphonium, causing it to bend slightly. Yet, at that time, due to her age and how timid she was, she didn't dare to do anything.

That problem lingered in her middle school life until that upperclassman graduated, yet there was no doubt it left a scar on her memory.

That was why, even if the situation of the concert band club was like this, Kumiko had never thought of doing anything. She just wanted to avoid trouble and just... played her euphonium like always.

Yet, Kumiko had a feeling that Mizuto's appearance was going to bring a storm into this stale club.

At the same time, Kumiko wondered what kind of musical instrument that Mizuto could play.

On the other hand, unlike Kumiko, who thought many things, Reina was too dumbfounded and stared at her lover in a daze.

Noboru Taki, the club advisor of the concert band club, looked at Mizuto for the first time, thinking that this guy was so handsome. It wasn't like he swung that way, but it was just a fact. However, as a teacher, he was also doubtful about Mizuto's sudden appearance. "Why did you decide to join now?" It wasn't that he didn't allow Mizuto to join, but Mizuto's timing was quite weird. Moreover, given how horrible the concert band club was, Mizuto's participants might have encouraged those girls to work harder.

"I am sorry for the sudden trouble that I have caused. Let me introduce myself first." Mizuto looked at Taki and said, "My name is Mizuto Irido. I am from 1-1. I have heard that the concert band club is aiming for nationals, and I am interested in such a competition."

Mizuto's answer was great, yet it caused many to flinch when they thought about how they were in the clubroom, even if they had made such a goal.

Nevertheless, Taki smiled and looked at his students. "You are right. We're aiming for nationals, right?"

"..." Everyone.

However, Taki didn't need their answer; he only wanted to remind them. Still, he looked at Mizuto once again and asked, "What kind of musical instrument do you play, Irido-kun?" With how confident Mizuto was, he wondered what kind of musical instrument that Mizuto played.

"What instrument player does the concert band need the most at this moment?" Mizuto asked.

Taki raised his brows, thinking for a moment, then said, "Oboe." This was the answer that he came up with after hearing Mizuto's answer. Unlike other instruments, which had many players, there was only a single oboist.

"Okay, I will play the oboe." Mizuto nodded firmly.

"..."

Taki was in silence, then asked, "Are you sure? The instrument isn't cheap, and it is the hardest to learn."

"It doesn't matter." Mizuto shook his head and said, "It's not like the first graders can participate in the nationals, right? I can use a year to learn this instrument."

His words were not wrong since, as he had always said, this was the social norm in this country. Older people have always been the ones chosen to participate in such competitions instead of the best. Whether it was here or at another school, everywhere was the same.

Yet, Taki shook his head softly and said with a smile, "No, even if you are in the first grade, you can become the main player of the concert band as long as you are better than the others." He then looked at everyone and said with a serious expression, "As you have decided before, our goal is to reach the nationals. As a teacher, I have a duty to lead you all to reach your goal, so you have to work hard. Now, change into the gym uniform."

"...."

No one could react since everything that they had heard was just unbelievable. From what Taki said, the first year was going to play, then suddenly being told to change into gym shorts.

"Wait, wait! Sensei! Are you serious? Can the first year play?" One of the upperclassmen asked with confusion.

"What's wrong? Are you afraid that your skill is worse than the first year?"

"I..."

He couldn't say anything under Taki's questioning and could only shut their mouths.

However, due to Taki's provocation, no one could say anything about Taki's decision to let the first grade play since if they rejected the idea, then wouldn't it mean that they admit that their skill was worse than the first grade?

Nevertheless, others aside, no one thought that Mizuto could enter the main group, but it didn't matter since he didn't care much about the opinions of others.

"But, wait, Sensei? A gym uniform?"

"Yeah." Taki nodded. "Yes, once you're dressed, meet in the school field with your instruments." He then looked at Mizuto and said, "I am sorry for the sudden, but you too, Irido-kun. You don't mind, right?"

"I don't mind."

"By the way, do you have a musical instrument?"

"No, I will get it soon."

"Is that so?" Taki glanced at Mizuto's watch, which happened to be a black Rolex Explorer. "...okay, bring your musical instrument tomorrow." From how Mizuto appeared, it seemed that there was no need for him to worry about the new member much.

"Okay." Mizuto nodded.

"You can report to your section." Taki then looked at the Oboe and Bassoon (Double Reed) Section, which only consisted of three members. "Raina Kitamura-san, Mikino Oka-san, Mizore Yoroizuka-san, please take care of him."

"Ye-Yes!" 2x

Raina Kitamura and Mikino Oka answered nervously yet cheerfully.

"Yes."

However, Mizore Yoroizuka answered calmly and plainly.

Mizuto also didn't bother Taki and walked to his section. "Please take care of me, Senpai." He could see that Reina was staring at him, but he decided to put her aside since this wasn't the time for him to talk with her.

"You don't need to worry~! We'll take good care of you well~!" Oka was so excited.

"Anyway, we should change to gym uniform first, Irido-kun. This teacher is kind of... strict." Raina, as the section leader, needed to remind Mizuto.

"Yes." Mizuto nodded obediently, then looked at Mizore. "Please take care of me, Senpai."

"Ah, yes." Mizuto was stunned, but she nodded and said, "Please... take care of me too." Her voice was quiet, almost unable to be heard, yet sweet, and her eyes also started to pay attention to her junior.
