Chapter 26

Hope

Caleb pulled up outside the camp parking his bike up, taking his helmet off. Hope closed the cabin door behind her, she looked at him. "Caleb is that you?"

He smiled.

She ran to him, flinging her arms around him he wrapped his arms around her. "God, I missed you gorgeous."

"I missed you too."

"Can we talk?"

"Sure come on.' She said, smiling.

God he'd missed her smile though it seems fake, what had really happened was she really and truly happy to see him?

They walked through the camp heading to where she sat to think about something she did a lot though her friends were with her. She'd told them everything that had happened at university they weren't surprised and they'd told her so.

They'd caught on how he'd been looking at her at college almost raking his eyes over her body and the jealousy that was radiating in his eyes. Pity she hadn't noticed before they had gone to uni together or she would've gone elsewhere.

"So how was uni?"

"Not the same without you, but good."

"You've expanded out Caleb and I mean a lot."

He smirked. "That's what training does to you, Angel."

She smiled. "So what are you doing now?"

"I'm back for a year. I have a lot of big fights coming up."

She smiled. "So you got spotted?"

"I did, the second year of uni. I trained really hard. I finished uni and went to work for them. It's been a hectic couple of years but I'm back now."

She smiled.

They sat down looking over the wilderness no wonder she chose this spot, it was quite calming.

"So what about you angel? How was uni?"

"A nightmare."

He looked at her curiously, as if asking her to continue. So she did. 'The first year was fine. Me and Josh were getting on a lot better, we even shared a dorm.

"We went to a lot of parties and he had a few girlfriends."

Caleb nodeed.

"Things began to change when we went into our second year and our parents decided to give us an apartment instead of us staying in the dorms. It was going fine until he dragged me to another party. It was going well, we were having fun, drinking. I knew I'd regret it as soon as they began to play games."

He looked at her. "What happened Hope? You seem a little nervous."

Tears fell freely out of her eyes. He pulled her to him hugging her, into him.

"He.. he.. kissed me."

"Are you sure that's all it was?"

She shook her head as a no.

"Tell me Hope, did he bully you again, did he hit you?"

She shook her head as a no.

"What then. Tell me Hope what did Josh do to you? You're shaking."

"He got me alone 30 minutes of heaven."

"Isn't it supposed to be seven?'

"They changed the rules. God I was so dumb Caleb. I was so fucking scared in the dark, all alone with him. I thought he was going to attack me like he had before and leave me for dead."

He hugged her closer to him. "But he didn't, did he?"

She shook her head.

"What did he do Hope?"

"He screwed me." She burst into tears.

His rage was growing inside of him, how could Josh do this and to his sister? He'd told Caleb he'd blackmailed her, but not to the extent that he was screwing her.

"He told me he really liked me Caleb, he blackmailed me into having a relationship with him whilst we were at uni or he'd tell Scar I'd insinuated it."

"Wait a minute, what has Scar got to do with any of this?"

"I'm sorry Caleb. I was so lost after we ended things, he was there for me. We're together Caleb."

So that's what that asshole was after every time he tuned up randomly, hoping that me and Hope were no longer together so that he could swoop in and make sure she fell into his arms.

"Well there goes what I came to ask."

She wiped her tears. "What did you want to ask Caleb?"

God those eyes.

"I wanted to begin again Hope. I made a mistake of letting you go before uni, I should've at least given it a chance first without blowing it off completely. I missed you the whole time I was there. I wanted to ask you to come with me whilst I toured and see if we still had that spark, but I guess I'm too late?"

"I'm sorry Caleb. I would've liked nothing more if things were different."

"Are you happy Hope?"

"Yes."

"You don't like it you look so lost."

"We're sorting through it. Josh opened his mouth, just say Scar wasn't too happy."

"I know he told me."

She looked at Caleb questionably. "When did you see Josh?"

"Before I came here. I wanted to know where you were. He told me you went off with Scar and you may be here. So, here I am."

"I'm glad you came."

"Me to angel, me too." He said, kissing her forehead.

She hugged Caleb before they both said goodbye and he drove away.

"What the hell did he want?"

Shit. She turned around. "You fucking scared me Scar."

"Why the fuck was he here Hope?"

"To see me."

"Why?"

"Maybe cause we're still friends."

"I don't trust him, Hope."

"He's not Joshua, Scar."

"They're friends, they are no different from each other."

"Whatever. I'm going I'm not arguing about this." She said, walking passed him.

"Where do you think you're going, Hope?"

"To my room I have a headache and I don't feel like arguing. Not today." She answered, storming off.

Two years later.

Joshua

It's been two years since I've seen or heard from Hope. She'd been training as well as going to the camp during the summer so I never got to see her. I'm not even sure if Caleb is still in contact with her. Or if she had told him about her and Scar. I haven't seen Caleb since I confessed to him what had happened between me and Hope during university.

What I do know she wasn't the only one to go to the camp once university was over, her friends had too. The ones she made whilst she was there.

Her mom and my dad were talking and I overheard that she was coming back for a couple of months. I'm not sure if her brother would be joining her as he was stationed in Bosnia last I heard.

The door creaked as it opened, heavy boots thudded as the person stepped onto the house. The door creaked as it closed. I stepped out of the kitchen watching her as she placed her rucksack down.

I slid my eyes over to her, fuck she'd changed a lot. She was suited up head to foot in camouflage attire at a guess the army guys were getting her to wear this because she was on their territory and in training. I coughed, she turned, her face said it all. She wasn't expecting me to be there and hoped that I wasn't.

"Joshua." She said coldly.

Fuck that hurt.

"Look Hope we really need to talk."

"Maybe later. I've just got back and I need to sort my shit out, have a shower and sleep."

"I understand."

She smiled quickly, grabbing her bag and heading upstairs fuck she was fit.

"I'm sorry Hope."

She stopped and turned looking at me.

"I'm sorry what happened at university between us, Hope. I'm your brother and I overstepped the mark just so I could be closer to you."

She nodded. "Can we please talk about this later?"

"Sure. Is your brother going to be joining you?"

"No he's still deployed in Bosnia, then he'll be in Afghanistan. He'll be joining us for Christmas."

I nodded.

"I'll talk to you later okay.'

"Okay."I nodded and she turned back heading up the stairs, well I truly fucked that up. "How long are you here for Hope?"

"Six months maybe more." She replied, closing her door.

I nodded. I really needed to work fast to get her to forgive me, I'd she ever would.
