For the sake of my son

Placing the book on the page where she left off last night, Sienna noticed a glass of water with lemon on the table just beside the ink and quill. She heard Lemiel's footsteps and glanced at him.

"Drink that to freshen up your mind," he said, glancing at the glass of lemon water as he took his seat. "You have been translating for two nights and are still not halfway through it. Can't your little fingers write faster?"

Sienna didn't know if she should thank him for offering her a glass of lemon water or be offended by his demand.

"I apologize if I write too slowly, Master Lemiel. You see, I am just a lowly maid who is not very bright. Please forgive me for my shortcomings," she said but she didn't sound anywhere near apologetic. She sounded sarcastic, but she didn't mind it and continued writing, not sparing the vampire another glance.
