"The auction will officially begin now." The auctioneer, Emily Brown, went up to the stage and officially kick started the auction.

Valuable artifacts, jewelry, and other items were brought up to the stage one after another, and they were auctioned off at very expensive prices.

The crowd was aware that most of them were fake items. In fact, some of the genuine items were with the guests. The Brown family wanted to collect funds to rise again by "blackmailing" them. As such, the guests had been treated like fools and forced to buy a pig in a poke.

They were very furious and wanted to question Emily if she had treated them as idiots. However, when they saw the surrounding heavily-armed soldiers, they decided that it was best to keep quiet.

Being forced to buy a pig in a poke was way better than being shot. Therefore, they rather surrendered their money to avoid disastrous consequences.
