7 Chapter 6

Daniel's POV

I smile when I see Veronica sitting close to the waterboy. I won't deny it, she does look sexy as hell. I can't wait for the game to begin.

Today we're playing against the Black Hawks, our rivals. They are almost as good as us but this game, belongs to Silver Streak High just like every other game. They might have beat us at some of our earlier games but we have won our fair share and plan on winning more. I smile as I face off against Ethan Black, the quarterback of the Black Hawks. He gives me his own shit eating grin and in no time, the tension that comes with the game is at play. After struggling to break through their defence, I can almost smell my first touchdown but instead I'm tackled down by Christian Amoretti, their best linebacker. That's the moment we also hear a ear piercing scream that causes all of us to freeze. “ woohoo! Go Danny! ” I and Christian turn to face Veronica wearing the extremely short top and skirt I'd given her, while she did a weird robotic dance and sang. “ go Danny, go, go, go Danny. ”

Her idiotic friend Lilly is already on the floor laughing like a maniac.

I can't help but think that there is something extremely wrong with this picture but despite that I can't help laughing. “ Veronica, you stupid bitch! ”

She smirks and gives me the middle finger. “ hey Danny! you're so good at this, lose some more. ”

We won the game but it was a close one which means that we've got to train harder than ever before. This was a friendly game, I can't imagine how well they'd actually play at the upcoming competitions.

I can't help but smile when I see Veronica tiredly scowling at the floor. That smile immediately wipes off my face when I see Ethan moving towards her.

I move quickly as well to try and intercept him but that proves impossible with all the well wishers holding me back to congratulate me. I see her laughing with him and her eyes light up, the way they always do when I'm talking to her. Only I have ever been able to put that look in her eyes, so I can't help but wonder just what the hell they're talking about.
