Chapter 39 - Plan B

Dr Cheng and Mimi were left awkwardly at the dining table, after Dominic abruptly excused himself.

"Ahem... My apologise Miss WuXain, but Dominic has been exhausted recently, I take responsibility for his behaviour, unfortunately I haven't been much help to him lately" Dr Cheng, spoke sincerely, easing the awkwardness between them.

Theoretically, Dr Cheng could be blamed for having intervened when Dominic had earlier refused to see Miss WuXain, knowing his current condition, so it's only right he took responsibility.

Mimi composed herself and smiled warmly at doctor Cheng, again portraying herself as a pitiful victim, she began to cry. She took a deep acting as though she were fighting back her tears and when she spoke her voice was gentle as a child who was just scolded, "I have loved him for so long, I had hope we could finally have got to know each other after a few meetings but..." MiMi lowered her head and wiped her eyes, refusing to speak any further. Mimi wasn't crying from sadness, but anger. But she had hoped the man before her will be of some use, by a way of conveying to Dominic just how pitiful she were.

Doctor Cheng sighed heavily, he has learnt during his interaction with those in the elite society, that they are often blinded with their own wants and rarely ever contemplate what others may feel or want. Therefore, He thought it's best to leave Miss WuXain with some few wise words, "Miss WuXain take it from an old soul, love should be mutual a feeling between both parties. It can't be forced nor can it be taken, it can only be freely given and freely received. Therefore, if the other party does not reciprocate your feelings, then maybe it is best to cast your interest elsewhere" Doctor Cheng advised wisely, he had come across many Mimi Wuxian's, and often they fail to see the errors of their ways even when proven wrong.

It was not that he didn't sympathize with MiMi's feelings, it was that understood far too well, for he himself had at one point possessed the same determined to make another love him. Until he realised far too late, that love shouldn't hurt the other or yourself, but be a fuel to that keeps you both together.

Mimi looked thoughtful at Dr Cheng, from her demeanour one would assume she had really taken his words truly to heart. But In fact she entirely disagreed, Mimi believed that love isn't mutual it's created and for love to be created one much show through their actions to the other person the lengths they're willing to go for them, the sacrifices one is willing to make. Otherwise, how would the person know you truly loved them, and for her, she was willing to prove to Dominic with all her heart just how much she wanted him, even it Dominic disapproves with her methods as first.

Seeing that he had nothing else to convey, doctor Cheng decided he too should leave. "Miss Wuxian, if you will excuse me, I will also take my leave, once you're ready, the butler will escort you out", he arose from his chair about to leave when Mimi suddenly cried out in pain "ahhhh". He looked back to find her cradling her earlier bruised arm to her chest.

"What happened?" he asked with concern in his, rushing to her side. He had examined her earlier, and her arm didn't appear to have been broken or severely injured, so why was it suddenly like this.

"I fine.... I think I just raised my arm too quickly" she again acted pitifully frowning her face in pain, she hoped he would get Dominic to come and assist her, but nonetheless he will surely tell him of her sufferings that will surely make him feel guilty towards her.

Concerned doctor Cheng examined her again, "well you don't appear to need any additional medical attention, but I suggest you don't lift anything heave and have plenty of rest for the next few days" he advised.

"By the way, please don't tell Dominic if this, I wouldn't want him to feel guilty having hurt me" she continued in her pitiful act.

"Oh, Dominic isn't concerned that he had hurt...." he froze, realising what he had said, "ohh.. Uh.... What I mean to say is.... of course he's concerned... but don't worry I won't tell him as you wish" he felt a cold sweat starting to form on his forehead, having seen a depressed look appear on Mimi's face. He hadn't intended to make the young lady feel further rejected.

"Okay, you're all set, I will take my leave now" he quickly made his way out before he could say anything else stupid.

Not Long after doctor Cheng had departed, did Dominic's butler arrive to escort Miss WuXain out.

"Miss WuXain, your driving is awaiting you outside" the butler simply stated with his usual expressionless face.

"Oh...am sorry to ask, but one of the maids accidentally ruined my dress earlier, and she promised she would take responsibility... I feel a little embarrassed leaving like this and my arm was also injured, so I'll need a little assistance, would you mind calling her?" MiMi asked with a sweet, shy voice.

"My apologies Miss Wuxian, I'll have her come here immediately"

A few moments later the maid from earlier arrived, again the two acted docile, with the maid again apologising repeatedly. "Miss WuXain, again I apologise, I wasn't able to find you a replacement dress, would a coat or jacket suffice?" The maid weakly asked with her eyes hung low.

MiMi really could careless about her dress and her arm wasn't hurting that much any more, but she needed an excuse for what she had in mind.

*Flashback*

Earlier, when MiMi purposefully spilt her drink on herself and had secretly passed an item to the maid. What she had passed the maid was a tranquillizer, or what is commonly known as date ****. When the maid had returned to the kitchen, she had discreetly placed the drug into a glass filled with Dominic's favourite drink. Later when Kang Lei was to serve the table, she made sure to inform him to hand the particular glass to Master Dominic, emphasising it being one of Master Dominic's favourite drink.

Kang Lei had done just has be had instructed and as expected, Dominic and drank the entirety, not being cautious of its content because his focus was directed on Kang Lei.

MiMi was, however, hoping that the drug would have taken effect while Dominic was seated at the table, then she could use this as a disguised to assistant him to his room where he would have been overcome by his sexual desire and devour her. After which she would claim innocent and use this to hold Dominic to her side. But this didn't happen has Dominic shortly after drinking the drug excused himself from the table. Now MiMi needed another way to get into his room, looks like she will have to use her plan B.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"Yes, a coat or jacket would be fine, I'll quickly go and use the restroom, have t it ready for when I leave. And thanks for helping me, right?" Mimi asked, subtly raise of her eyebrows.

The maid quickly caught on while pretending to be weak and timid, she responded in a shaky voice "yes... Miss WuXain, I am honoured to assist you".

Mimi smirked, if the maid had used the full dose, there was no way Dominic would still be lucid, he must be going crazy this very moment, with his body dying to ravish another and Mimi couldn't be more delighted.
