I read this story a while ago under the title Black Bellied President Dotes on Wife, but I didn’t finish it. I am excited that it was picked up here and I can finally finish it. It will take patience since there were 68 chapters translated before it was dropped this summer. Again, am so excited. Thank you for picking this up!

One word -> A-D-D-I-C-T-I-N-G ! Just the first 20 chapters and I’ve already made the decision of MTLing the raws. From the sypnosis you expect a weak FL who’s getting trampled by everyone. Don’t stop on that. Because I did and I would have found an hidden gem earlier If I didn’t come upon it on novel update. What attracted me was that it was the only novel published on webnovel with high ratings on novel update (4.4 ratings when all other webnovels are either rated at 1.5 or 3 on this site.) The FL has a strong character but doesn’t have the means to protect herself. Here comes ML to support her. From what has been seen so far even if we’re still in the cold CEO tropes he doesn’t seem to be an abusive one. There’s a realistic undertone in this novel, it’s more down to earth, more realistic than any other novel at least on the romance part. There wasn’t any spark from the beginning between the lead on the contrary you can see their romance building little by little. The fact that autor gives an hindsight on ML point of view in his encouters with FL is just wonderful. It makes you understand more on why ML is interested in FL. The drama is not over the top and it changes a bit from other modern romance tropes (in the way it is written but on the theme because there is still the white lotus stepsister and stepmother, heartless relatives, etc but it’s so well written that you can’t find faults at least for the 20 first chapters). I just hope that as the story evolves FL will stand on her ground more even without ML. And that ML just remain as he is and don’t fall in the abusive type category, knowing that there are 1600+ chapters everything could happen so...
RiDiculous, frustrating, stupid FL. 1.5/10 rating. This story is about a stupid female lead. Got fired bec of a rumor, though she just want to move on, she did not even clear her name. She just accepts what people tHrows at her. Duh ur mom suicide bec ur father committed *****ery. What filial piety? Thats a stupid concept used by Old mean people who wants to leech off the young generation.U cant expect ur son or daughter to be nice to u when u dOnt do the same. If that was me, i wouod have Cut my ties to that father of a scumbag when my mom died. She was so stupid to keep on expecting something fRom her trash family. U Get hUrt bec u wont let go of the Toxic people That torture u. U dont deserve it but u dont want to moVe on from it. Which makes u stupid. So all in all this is not a good read, so frustrating and depressing it makes me want to knock some common sense to the female lead. LIve ur life and stOp being bitter.
So I have only read first few chapters yet but I can't help but notice the similarities between this story and other story named "The most loving marriage in history: Master Mu's pampered wife" Here are the similarities between both novels that can be seen by only reading first few chapters: 1: Male lead and Female goes on a blind where female lead hurts her hand and ML helds her hand and give his handkerchief. The only difference is that in this story the female lead hurts her hand by candle wax but FL in "TMLMIH:MMPW" FL hurts her hand by spilling coffee. 2: Both Female leads are deceived by their fiances who cheated on them with their step-sisters. 3: Both Female leads have a father who is city mayor. 4: Both female leads have a step mother who are terrible to them. Lets see if I find more similarities in upcoming chapters. P.S I'm gonna read it even if it is totally similar to "The most loving marriage in history: Master Mu's pampered wife" because it was my favorite novel.
Been hooked up reading this book and it really interesting. I like FL character so far except there are times that the author showed a ‘dumbness’ in her character. Seems she does not have the ability to judge one’s behaviour. She always fall into her family’s trap. So far the turn of events is good. One downside is error in character’s name. There some paragraph talking about Ning but the name use is either Xue or her father. Same thing with the Jing brothers. Maybe if the author have time, he or she can edit the book.
