11 11. The Second Day Has Just Begun

Hanabi and Yuki had met a few years back through their parents. They were quite close at first, but they slowly drifted apart as Yuki became more of an introvert and Hanabi fell in love with her tutor.

Hanabi kept sneaking peaks at Yuki along. She didn't think the quiet boy she knew would grow up to become so handsome.

With his hair out of his face, Yuki finally showed the handsome face he had been hiding.

His bright blue eyes were so beautiful that they left Hanabi dazed. She didn't notice that she wasn't just peeking but openly staring.

"Is something on my face?" Yuki asked Hanabi even though he knew why she was staring.

"N-No, I just thought you looked different." Hanabi stammered as a blush spread across her face.

Yuki looked at Hanabi with a smile. Her blushing face was so cute that Yuki couldn't help himself.

He moved his face close to hers and asked "Really, how am I different?"

Hanabi felt her heart racing as Yuki approached her. The scent of his body was better than she imagined as her defences slowly broke down.

"You...You look more handsome." said in a barely audible tone. If Yuki wasn't so close, he wouldn't have even heard it.

Just as he was about to say something, a screen popped up.

Yuki released a heartfelt smile upon seeing another skill added to his status. He was completely unaware that his smile was causing damage to someone else.

Hanabi zoned out as she watched Yuki smile. The only thing she thought was that her compliment had moved Yuki so much that he showed such a beautiful smile.

She was completely enamoured by him at this moment.

"Takahashi-kun!" Hanabi recovered as she looked towards the sound of the voice calling Yuki. She hadn't even noticed they had gotten to school.

"Hey, Kirisaki-san!" Yuki said as he waved to Chitoge in the distance.

"See you later Yasuraoka-san." Yuki said as he left Hanabi and headed towards Chitoge.

"Mmm." Hanabi looked at the back of Yuki getting further and further away from her. She couldn't help but feel a certain feeling of loss when he left.

Shaking her head, he headed towards a group of friends she had.

"Is that your girlfriend Takahashi-kun?" Chitoge asked as they entered the school grounds.

"No, she's just a childhood friend of sorts." Yuki quickly said as he didn't want to cause any misunderstandings.

"I see." Chitoge said in doubt, but she didn't pursue the matter and changed the topic. "Do you live close by Takahashi-kun?"

"Yeah, I've lived there almost all my life." Yuki said as he thought about the past. There was a faint memory he couldn't seem to recall.

"Lucky." Chitoge murmured in a slightly envious tone.

Yuki looked at Chitoge and thought she missed her previous home, "Well, I'm sure you'll make a lot of new memories here?"

"Mmm!" Chitoge looked stoked at the thought of her upcoming high school life.

Yuki smiled as he watched the happy Chitoge. He always welcomed beautiful girls. 'Maybe this habit of mine is what got me killed?'

'Chika...' Yuki remembered the plain girl he had fallen in love with and released a sigh of melancholy.

Chitoge saw the expression on Yuki's face and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I was just thinking about how I haven't made any high school memories." Yuki said the first excuse that came to mind.

'[Deception]? How come there isn't any past life experience? Well, I guess I was always bad at lying.' Yuki thought and shrugged.

"Why? You don't seem like someone who wouldn't be popular." Chitoge said, taking a closer look at Yuki. She finally noticed the changes Yuki had made to himself.

"You changed your hairstyle?" asked Chitoge in surprise. She noticed his blue eyes and thought it was a shame he had hidden them before.

"You only noticed now? What do you think?" Yuki asked.

"It looks good." Chitoge said after a while

"Thanks."

"Kirisaki-san! Yuki-kun!" They looked to see Shu approaching.

"Morning Shu-san!" Yuki greeted.

"You know, you don't have to be formal with me." Shu said.

"Then Shu?" Yuki asked.

"Sure, same to you Kirisaki-san." Shu extended to Chitoge.

"Ok." Chitoge responded

"Did you walk to school together?" Shu asked the question that's been on his mind

"No, I just met her at the school gate." Yuki answered. He knew what Shu might be thinking.

"Cool, then let's get to class." Shu said he realised he didn't have much to ask.

"By the way, I like your hairstyle." Shu said on the way to class.

"Thanks, I thought I should try something new." Yuki said. He noticed that a few people had been staring at him.

"Do I really look that different?" Yuki asked Shu when he realised some of the expressions people were showing.

"Well...how should I say this...You looked gloomier and more introverted before. You look like a totally different person now." Shu thought of the best way to describe Yuki's appearance.
