Chapter 9: Stalker

Lex still had his normal classes after his System class. He really couldn't afford to miss them, even though he could, as he was just healed from a serious injury.

But it didn't really sit well with him to skip classes even though he was already perfectly capable of attending them. His parents were paying for his tuition, after all.

Ray's group was also in one of his classes, but surprisingly, they did not find trouble with him. Instead, they just stared at him with threatening gazes… for the duration of the whole class.

Obviously, he could not even hear a word of what the professor was saying as he could not even concentrate because of the eyes that were on him.

His other classmates were also glancing at him, some trying to strike up a conversation, asking how he was.

But soon, their curiosity died down. There were a lot of System Holders having the power to heal even the most grievous of wounds, so it was not really a surprise for Lex to be back and attending classes already.

And thus, Lex finished all of his classes for the day without any trouble, well, except what happened this morning. He also tried to look for Arnold, the fat man who was forced to… lick his sausage. But he was nowhere to be found even in their shared classes.

Considering what happened, Lex did not really find it surprising.

Lex quickly rushed back towards his dorm room, avoiding the taunting noises that Ray's group were making along the way.

Lex slowly opened the door to his room, but confirming Arman and his female friend were no longer here, he quickly ran to his cabinet to dress up.

He wore a shirt with loose sleeves to try and avoid touching the burn on his arms. And finally, after gathering his courage.

It was time to go. But then he did not even take 3 steps before he saw himself in the mirror.

Won't… someone recognize him if he goes out like this? It would be bad if anyone saw him in the Red Light district. He had a very androgynous face. This was also one of the reasons why the bullies have targeted him.

A man with an androgynous face eating sausages all year long? He was basically asking to be targeted.

And so, with a slight grind of his teeth, he glared at himself in the mirror and aggressively messed up his hair.

He released a few heavy breaths before calming down. With this… no one should probably notice him anymore.

He once again looked at himself in the mirror, and although his vision was slightly limited by his hair which entirely covered his eyes, he could still see plenty.

With his hair covering half of his face, no one should be able to notice him anymore, "This… should be okay for now", he whispered.

Making sure that there was no one in the hallway, he quickly exited his room. Walking without pause until he reached the academy gates.

As students of the System Holders Academy, there weren't really any strict rules preventing them from going out. They were, after all, special.

They had a curfew, but the school does not really care if students don't return until early in the morning as long as no one gets into trouble.

Lex walked a few more blocks from the school before hailing a motorcycle taxi.

What Lex did not know, however, was that someone saw him.

"W-wasn't that Lex?"

It was Janice. Janice was currently driving along the street as he saw Lex getting on the motorcycle, "Where… is he going looking like that?"

Despite Lex's well-thought disguise, the professor quickly recognized him.

"This… this is a bit suspicious, isn't it?", Janice tapped the steering wheel frantically, "Should I follow him?"

No! No!

Janice quickly shook her head. Why would she follow him!?

But… he is her student, though. What if he was up to something bad? Isn't it her duty as his professor to guide him?

Janice then gulped as she slowly stepped on the gas.

She knew… She knew that she had no obligations of butting into Lex's business.

But for some reason, completely unknown to her, she could not stop herself.

And so, she followed the motorcycle from behind.

She drove for almost an hour before the motorcycle dropped off Lex infront of a Wcronald's. Janice was confused.

Did Lex… really just travel for almost an hour just to eat at a wcronald's? If it was that, then don't they have a wcronald's just a few blocks away from the academy? Was he really even going inside?

This… this is truly suspicious, Janice thought as she parked her car near the view of the wcronald's.

But contrary to her assumptions, Lex did go inside. He ordered fries and coke as he sat next to the window.

So, Lex really went here just to eat? The only thing inside Janice's mind now was confusion. Why go here to eat? Something… Something was definitely not right here, she thought.

Janice then closed her eyes, and slowly, two horns protruded on top of her head.

No, they weren't horns… they were ears. Huge ears that looked like they belonged to an animal.

She then opened her eyes, which now glowed yellow as she placed her attention towards Lex, who was casually eating in front of the window.

The huge ears on top of her head started to twitch as it focused on Lex.

Janice squinted her eyes. Nothing really was out of the ordinary. Maybe Lex really just went here to eat? She heard a rumor that Lex was getting bullied, maybe that's why he didn't want to eat near the academy? Maybe it was just that.

Should… She just go home then?

Yes, she probably should. But as soon as her hand reached for the keys, she heard the sound of Lex's mouth chewing the fries.

Her breath instantly stuttered as she let go of the keys. She then once again looked at Lex, with his tongue moving as he licked the ketchup that was on his lips. Janice's vision started to cloud as her vision and hearing started to only focus on Lex.

Her animal ears twitch with every bite that Lex took.

And unconsciously, her hands slowly reached between her legs.

No! She quickly snapped out of it as she slapped her face, hard. W-what are you doing again!? She screamed internally when she finally realized what she was doing.

Wasn't she… basically a stalker!?

No! No! Calm yourself down, Janice! She once again slapped herself. She tried to convince herself that she should probably go…

...But she didn't.

She decided to wait for Lex to go out of the wcronald's. She didn't really know what she was going to do once he left, but still, she waited.

She waited until the sun went down and the lights in the city turned on.

"!!!"

Finally, after a full 4 hours of waiting, Lex finally stepped out of the Wcronald's.

"Where… where could you be going?", she whispered as she got out of the car to follow Lex.

This is for the welfare of her student. She keeps on reminding herself that this was her responsibility as a teacher. She then paid for her parking again as she hurriedly walked behind Lex.

It was her responsibility to keep her student safe.

Yes, it was only that. She kept on convincing herself as she hid behind the corner of the street.

She followed Lex for almost a quarter of an hour. But as she repeated in her mind, she was not a stalker.

She then once again hid behind a pole as she saw Lex entering a building. She was about to follow him inside, when she noticed what the building was.

"This..", she released a light gasp, "Isn't this…"

She then looked around her, she did not notice it since she was so focused on following Lex. But she was currently surrounded by colorful buildings. Numerous flashing lights were waving at her, containing all sorts of music.

This is the Red Light district.

And the building that Lex just entered to?

It was a brothel.
