1 Chapter One

EVELYN'S POV

"Evelyn... Eve", I fell down on my butt as I tried to get up from my bed. One thing to note about me is that I am a very terrible sleeper, a dangerous disaster in sleepmatics, sometimes, I wonder how I come up with these phrases at times. I stood up holding my butt as I came downstairs to answer the call of my mum who graciously woke me up this morning.

When I got downstairs breakfast was already served and my dad was already seated with the newspaper in his hand.

"Good morning dad" I greeted him, "Morning Princess" he replied.

Who would have thought that I ended up as a lovely princess to these wonderful couple. Yes you guessed right, I was adopted by them when I was eight years old and ever since then they have loved me more than their lives for the past thirteen years.

"Aren't you going to work today?" My mum asked, "Because it looked like if I didn't wake you, you weren't planning on waking up anytime soon" She continued.

"I still don't get the reason why you still need to work, I and your mum has got your tuition covered already. You know we are not short of money princess so what's with the stress?" dad complained keeping the newspaper on the table while sipping his tea.

"Come on mum and dad we have talked about this countless number of times. I want to be an independent woman and not become a liability to any man I end up with tomorrow. Besides you can never know this world is scary and anything can happen" I said lowering my head.

"Eve we have told you I and your dad aren't going anywhere, we will be with you till the end of time, we have promised" mum said trying to coerce me.

I have had this insecurity that mum and dad might end up leaving me one day just like my real parents did and they know about it already so they try to persuade me that nothing of such will happen when I have these thoughts.

"Okay mum, dad, I love you guys so much" I stood up and gave them a hug.

"Now go eat and prepare for work" my mum said.

I don't have work today, I took I and Ethan's shift two days ago so I am free today" I replied. I sat down and took a bite of the pancake on my plate. My mum makes the best pancake I smiled to myself.

After breakfast I went up to my room picked up my laptop and logged into Nkiri.com a website for Korean movies and some Asian movies too. Apart from my poor sleeping habits I am a total Korean movie lover and fan. I love fine guys, I admire them a lot hence, the reason I have had a crush on my childhood friend Ethan since we were younger. But my love story ended even before it began.

I searched for some movies and decided to watch one "Forecasting Love and Weather ". My Korean movie preferences always depend on the handsomeness of the male lead and for this movie, the male lead wasn't so bad at all so I started binging to pass time.
