My Salvation

Lia Brown, a 20 year old girl, goes on a family trip to her hometown during summer vacation . Wanting to escape from her loud and bothersome family members, she goes out where she bumps into a handsome looking boy on the street. Next thing she knew, the same boy was helping her when she fell victim to some vicious prank. A long time passes without her seeing him again, only to one day bump into him again. She thought it was all a coincidence, but little did she know he kept watching over her for months in secret. Noah, her secret observer, failed to understand the reasons behind his attraction to her and had finally decided to get to the root of it as he approached her. His friend complained, "But she's a human." The werewolf alpha showed no intention of backing down as he strode forward, trying to unravel the secrets surrounding her that only he could feel.

A Date?

She said and then put her phone down. She was exhausted after a full day of class and lectures but talking to Noah made her feel a bit better. She decided to wash up and change into comfortable clothes before touching her phone again.

In a roof on the opposite side of her home, two human figures were visible through the moonlight. One of them took a big bite out of the latest triple cheese delight burger as he sat down.

"So what's the deal?" He asked as he kept chewing.

"Nothing much. Just making sure she reached home safely." Noah replied as he looked at the cheese smeared over Nick's cheeks with a frown. He wasn't very fond of messy eaters.

"You know I'm not talking about that. You've been watching over her for months already! And every time I ask something, you always give vague answer." Nick said as he took a big bite out of the burger in frustration. He wasn't going to let Noah change the topic anymore. Noah didn't answer.

"Do you like her?" After finishing almost half of the burger, Nick asked again.

"I don't know."

"You don't know? And still you've been following her around like that? Aren't you a stalker at this point?" Nick said as he narrowed her eyes, clearly dissatisfied with Noah's answer. He stayed quiet for a moment then spoke again. But this time, with much more seriousness.

"And she's human."

Noah, who was quietly staring at the building where Lia lived, turned his head to look at Nick for the first time in a while.

"Do you think I don't know that?" He said as he narrowed his eyes, his eyes shining with a deadly red blaze. It was proof of his alpha blood.

Nick froze for a second and then avoided his eyes, realizing that he had hurt his friend with his previous remark. It wasn't very often that Noah got mad. And he hardly ever extracts his power as an alpha to suppress others. He was a kind and gentle person, different from the normal standards of Alphas.

"I'm sorry. It's just that I really don't understand what you're trying to do here. You even approached her on purpose today." Nick said as he scratched the back of his head.

"I wanted to speak with her. I don't know what it is but something about her makes her different from all the other humans I've seen before."

Noah looked confused and helpless as he said those words. From the very first time he saw her, he couldn't stop thinking about her. She was different from the others and that difference made him unable to ignore her presence. Since then, he used all his authority to find more information about her. He even left his hometown because he wanted to get to know more about her and approach her in some way.

"I see. I kind of understand what you mean now. She definitely wasn't normal."

Nick said with a slight understanding tone. The burger in his hand was finally gone and he licked the sauce off his finger as he spoke.

"Did you also feel something weird? Do you know what it is that makes her different?"

Noah almost looked desperate as he shook Nick by the shoulder and asked. Nick was startled for a moment, seeing this new side of Noah and giggled. But before he could answer Noah's question, a text notification sound rang inside Noah's pocket. He quickly let go of Nick and pulled out his phone.

L: Chicken skewer or fish cake?

Noah laughed softly as he saw the text. Then replied.

N: Chicken skewer of course.

L: You gave great choice. I'm already looking forward to the time I'll drag you around the street food stalls.

N: I'm always prepared.

N: Want to grab some snacks together this weekend?

Lia was surprised once again as she saw the text. The Noah that wasn't awkward felt very different from the Noah she knew. But she didn't hate the duality of his personality; rather, she thought it was cute.

L: Sure! We can go in the evening. I'll text you the location?

N: Sounds great. I'll have to go now.

L: Alright. Talk to you later.

Lia rolled around in her bed as she thought about her conversation with Noah. From accidentally meeting him to planning to go out together, it all felt like a dream. She wondered if it'll all disappear once she wakes up tomorrow morning. After rolling around for a bit more, she finally got up and focused on her studies, deciding to pull an all-nighter.

On the other hand, Nick looked at Noah curiously as he saw him smiling like an idiot. He was sure that Noah was talking to Lia right now.

'And he says he doesn't know? What bullshit!'

He clicked his tongue as he kept staring between Lia's apartment and Noah's smiling face simultaneously. Feeling irritated, he stood up from his seat.

"If you're done watching, let's return. We have classes tomorrow."

"Mmm. Okay." Noah agreed without much complains as he saw Lia's parents parking their car in front of her apartment. Soon they were jumping from one building to another as they made their way back to their dormitory room.

The next few days passed as Noah and Lia stayed glue to their phones, waiting for a text from each other. Their friends wondered what was wrong with them as they stayed immerged in their phones with a stupid grin on their face.

They talked about many things, their hobbies, favorite food, dream, aim, family and many others. They never seemed to run out of topic or interest. When the weekend arrived, Lia asked Ian out to her favorite burger place. To which Ian happily agreed.

In the weekend, they both became very busy as they scurried through their wardrobe and drawer, trying out many dresses and hairstyles as they looked forward to their time together.

Lia arrived 30 minute early to their meeting place, wearing a simple floral pattern top and jeans. Her lips had a light orange shade and her hair flowed freely behind her back. She looked cool and innocent.

Lia didn't need to wait long as Noah arrived 5 minutes after her arrival. He was wearing a plain white shirt with black jeans, the shirt tucked inside his pants, showing his fit body outline clearly. His sleeves were slightly folded, giving off a cute but mature charm.

"Am I late?" He asked as he smiled.

"Nope. Early in fact, both of us are." She smiled in response. The scent of grass and sunlight accompanied Noah as he approached her. The all too familiar scent made Lia feel comfortable and relaxed.

"I'm glad then. I was worried for a second there." He sighed in relief.

"Mhm. You look great." Lia praised him as she remembered their first encounter. Noah's fashion sense had shocked her greatly back then, which was quite different from the present.

"That should be my line. I had no trouble finding you even among this crowd, since you stood out so much, in a positive way of course."

Hearing him praise her so honestly, Lia blushed slightly then shook her head.

"Shall we go now?" They started walking side by side, with Lia guiding him towards their destination.
