38 Tough nut to crack

The heel of Joshua's shoe looked like that of any normal one but on sliding the top of it, the heel moved making some space where Joshua can hide stuff, he hid the sim card there and again slid the hill and closed it, he breathed in relief as everything has been going just like he planned and was hoping the background check too to go smoothly.

He had a bath and changed to a casual t-shirt and track pants, he came out to the living room to see Amara and James sitting in the living room busy with their phones.

"So, what are we going to do till the background check is completed?" Joshua initiated a conversation and sat next to Amara.

"We will sit with you and ensure you don't run away" James answered his question.

"Why would I run away?" Joshua chuckled at James' words.

"We are just being cautious" James informed him and went back to browsing his mobile.

"Make a list" Amara handed a paper and pen to Joshua.

Joshua understood she was talking about the food ingredients he might need to cook for himself, he took the pen and paper thought hard for some time and wrote down what all he might need and gave back the list to Amara who went through it.

"Are you serious?" she glared at him after reading the contents of the list.

"Why what's wrong?" Joshua was confused.

"This list doesn't make sense, you asked for all packaged food, you don't need vegetables, salt and other spices?"

"I told you I don't know cooking" Joshua helplessly informed her.

"Fine, I'll allow you to order food for yourself but I'll give you a lit of restaurants and you have to order only from there" Amara warned him.

"Oh goodness, you really don't trust me, do you?"

"Yes, I don't" she didn't hesitate at all voicing her thoughts.

"Fine, I'll order from wherever you would suggest" Joshua helplessly thought, 'This woman is a tough nut to crack'
