Angry Laugh
A decent cheat novel overall. It isn't very original and as usual it isn't something you haven't seen before but despite this (and the rather rough start) the novel's execution is fairly enjoyable. A respectable light hearted read for when you just want to kill time. It does what it set out to do fairly well. 2.5/5.
The MCs personality very much urks me, and the fact the the author tries to justify the pathetic personality of the MCs is even worse, a people pleaser is a horrid persona for an MC, and no matter how you try and spin it, that's exactly what he was doing, until he no longer needed too, but still tries to make them like him, so they put up with him, how sad, I might keep reading, and if it gets better, I'll retract this review.
The reason the overall rating is 3.6 is the translation quality of the novel. The novel is a good read until now and a have nothing to complain about it yet. But the translator keeps changing the name of things every chapter making it sometimes hard to see the true meaning of things. It looks like there are many translators translating each chapter that donβ know what was used on the chapter before. So 0-1 stars for the translation job of the novel. Since you would have the same experience on MTL.[img=faceslap]
Interesting concept with a good start to the story, but starting at chapter 45 the translation quality is terrible. Many names are changed across the board and even the changes are inconsistent. Could be a great story if translation improves, but until then it is very hard to read because of frustration about the poor translations.
Translation for free chapters are excellent. After the free chapter, it went downhill. It is still readable but not as consistent as the free chapters. For example, his first summon is called "yellow" then became "ah Huang" or it was called"yellow scarf soldier to "yellow bandana". it will rattle your reading immersion a little bit.
Currently ongoing with over 180 chapters. The MC has so far shown normal level IQ with above average determination. The cheat is interesting in that it has lots of potential, but it's all up to the MC to figure out. Overall, the best series this week without a doubt and a solid C+ to B within the site. My only complain so far is translation. Specifically, the quality of the card after transformation.
WARNING: This is a monster pet fighting novel!!! If you are interested in reading this because you think that this may be some kind of story about a character with unique runes that have different abilities and he has a system to upgrade them, then this isnβt the novel for you. The system is primarily a pet upgrading system. While the mc does get other abilities he can upgrade through the system, they are very secondary and a minor focus of the overall novel. There are no real βrunesβ in this novel. Runes are simply used as nomenclature replacing the normal names of standard things such as loot, classes, spells, attacks, equipment, summons and etc. Keep in mind, the mc can only utilize summons and equipment out of all of these things due to their class restriction(summoner). If you can look past that, this is a decently written rpg monster fighter/loot collector story, but thatβs all.
Honestly wasn't that bad until chapter 40, but starting from chapter 41and onwards, the translation quality deteriorated. The already confusing ranking system became more messed up and the names of the summons and their skills changed. Basic stuff like capitalization of letters also became lackadaisical.
