Hatred

Days turned into weeks and weeks into months and it was time for the college entrance result. Standing infornt of the principal's office was the nervous looking Roseline,her step sister and other students who has also sat for the exam

"good morning students"the principal said with a smile

"good morning mam"

"I want to say thank you to those that has made us proud and also say that I am disappointed at some of you especially Mira"The principal said looking at Mira

"sometimes I wonder if you guys are actually sisters, how can you be so dumb"The principal said with disappointment written all over her face

"with this medium I will like to thank Roseline Martin for making this school proud .Not only did she not passed with flying colors but was given a scholarship to study in her school of choice"

After given a long speech with lots of praises thrown at Roseline the principal finally rounded up her speech and sent them to their various classes with Mira burning with range

"dummy"A student called Mira and the rest burst out in laughter

"wonder if they are really siblings cos I cant understand while one will be so dumb and the other intelligent"Another student said and everyone laughed

school finally came to an end and Mira could not wait and ran home in tears and anger

"mum"Mira called as she entered the house

"what happened my child"

"Roseline stole from me and paid for her college entrance exam and now she made everyone call me a dummy "Mira said as she broke down in tears remembering all the insults and humiliation she received all,because of her sister

"what?"

"yes mum..the money you gave me went missing and my friends helped me pay for the entrance exam only for me to find out that she took it and paid for her entrance exam and now she passed with a scholarship and I didn't"Mira cried a river

Her mother boiled in anger she knew her daughter was not that smart and tried to bribe the school but they refused.her anger grew more when she heard that her step daughter passed the same exam without bribe and ended up with a scholarship

"dont worry my child, I will do something about it"Her mother said trying to calm her daughter down

She waited for Roseline to come home and when she finally did,she did the unspeakable

"give it to me"

"what?"

"stop trying to play dumb and give me your result"

"but mother, that result is important to me,I need it to claim my scholarship"Roseline said and immediately a heavy slap landed on her,cheeks

"give me the result now"She threatened and Roseline did with a shaking hands and when she did ,her step mother tore it into pieces

Roseline stood there in tears,her dreams of becoming a lawyer was torn in front of her and she did nothing about it

"mother"She called with a teary voice

"clean this up"her step mother finally said after a long silence

Roseline stood there crying her eyes out ,blaming her mother for leaving her and hating her father for putting her in this situation. if only he was faithful and had not met this devil she lives with,her life would have been normal just like other kids of her age.she imagined how happy her mother would have been when she sees her result and hear the news of her getting a scholarship but no,everything spoilt when this devil came into their lives.she could remember clearly that day,how her birthday suddenly ended after a knock on their door ,she always wished it was a dream and that she could wake up and tell her mom about it like she used to but it was not a dream. she cried her eyes off and did not know,when she slept up trying to join the pieces of her result together
