I'm not safe yet

"Jodan. Hide!" The one who said was Kelan. He looked astonished for a second. Kelan came at me from his slot.

"B-But why?"

"Don't talk just hid in the basement. A detective might have come to investigate."

"D-Detective?" I spoke in nervous. My heart stopped beating for a moment.

"Don't space out. Snap it out. Just go now."

He pushed me away. I did as he said. I walked myself to the basement. In order to go into the basement, you have to go through the door that had a lock on it. Mr. Heriss had given me the key to the lock long ago for the sole reason of training.

Then again I have to hurry. My hand was shaking so much that I couldn't focus on the lock. I wasn't able to unlock the lock because of that.

"Focus Jodan, Focus Jodan." I said that to myself to calm myself. There was no one nearby. It's pin-drop silence. I was finally able to unlock the door and went inside. After that, I made a relief sigh. This should be the first encounter with a detective. What would they do they find me? Would they kill me the exact moment? I was thinking about useless things. That only made me more anxious. My legs were numb. The wide hands were shaking and couldn't able to stand. I have to hide. I have to hide. "I'm not safe yet. I have to ….hide." I was mumbling and stepping forward.. The basement has stairs. I had to take them to go down. The gym room is down. After reaching down I would Abel to see the gymnastics and other segment rooms. But for now, I have to take the stairs. What's more, is that I wasn't able to feel my leg because of nervousness.

"Why now?" I believe in Mr. Heriss and others. They would be able to handle it but….

I began taking one step per minute. That way I would be able to go down. I can't believe this is me. After all that training, I'm still not changed. I'm still that Winny kid.

This is bad. I ran away from my problem and fall in danger with Mr. Heriss and others. I have caused enough problems for them. I can't just do more. I have to think way out.

This is for me and them. I was finally able to go down with my numb legs. I got into the gym room. This is place is like my other home. More of my time is spent here. I polished my skills. I pulled out the diary and opened the page where the status shows.

My level had risen quite a lot but it's still not enough to challenge Kurama. I have to get stronger.

*whoah! Shill hiding like a child? You have more than enough strength to kill that detective. He's just a human. You're making our reputation down. *

Again with that old fart. Why did he start nagging?

"Every time you open your mouth you would just say about killing. You don't have a reputation, to begin with. You guys kill a human. Remember that."

*Oh, right. We don't have any. But Jodan you have raised it a bit by not killing humans.*

*You could say that. I'm kinda starting to like the syste--"

"Really!!"

"No, just forget it as if I never said it."

*Let me warn you again. You can't like without killing humans. Did you forget that the system was made to produce a perfect monster? It's like a breeding machine. Even if you created enough resistance against that rule, there's no way you can avoid it forever. The day will come when it will manifest you.*

"That day I would kill myself."

*You tried it don't you?*

"Even if the system kills me, I wouldn't discard my humanity. So, don't say one thing again and again. It gives me a head ache."

"CREEKK!"

Someone opened the door. Who could it be? Don't tell me it's the detective. I quickly stood up from the seated position and distanced my legs from one to the other. I took the posture of attacking. If this is a surprise attack I think I can handle it. The segment rooms were built with see-through glass. You could easily see who's coming from then inside. The staircase was a little far away fading into the dark. If a person came down, I could see that person when the lights reflect on him.

A figure was approaching and I could feel it. It was dark so I hardly see who he's yet. But soon after I would know. Sweat fell on the floor from the forehead. I was feeling tensed all of a sudden.

"Jodan?" A familiar voice came from the dark. A muscular figure became visible to bare eyes as revealed himself from the dark.

"Mr. Heriss?"

"Oh, the detective is gone, you can come out now." He masked himself with the same unnatural grin that I hated most. I

"So, the detective came for me…" I said while downcasting my head. I know that I'm a misfortune. The more I got involved in other people's affairs the more I got to know about that.

"I caused trouble again for you. I'm sorry."

"Don't be so down. It's nothing. They came here just to inquiry some things. I hardly believe that they would come again." As always Mr. Heriss tried to console me. However, my head was still low. I can't just accept this. Why would they trouble themselves because of me? Isn't it unfair?

"Haha, Let's head up. Lift your head up" he rubbed my head while making light laughs.

"Yea'" I nodded slightly and we both went out way to the top. Mr. Heriss has a copy of the lock so he could easily come and go. After all,, he made this giant underground training floor. There's all kinds of stuff you could practice here. For example, there's room for only one-on-one fighting. Another for boxing. Another for karate. Each room has its own unique way. Luna most of her free time spent practicing boxing.
