A Children’s Story

Once there lived a monster in a wild forest. There was a village near the forest. The villagers were afraid of him. The monster didn't want any harm. He just wanted to be friends with the villagers. But the villagers were too afraid to befriend him. One day while hunting in the forest the villagers encountered the monster. The monster was crying with its heart out. The villagers felt pity for him. Even with knowing that the monster could kill them anytime, the villagers grabbed their courage and went near the monster. They asked the monster, "Why are you bawling?" The monster didn't answer. The villagers added, "Are you perhaps hungry? Do you need food? If you want, we can give you some." The monster sat quietly. The villagers decided to leave him as the monster didn't answer them. They were felt sad as they live. The emotion ran wild inside them. What might be the reason? What could have bothered him? They thought. As they were about to live the monster stood up. The monster had finally stood on his feet. Despite having a large body, he moved his legs without any restrictions.

Was it just my imagination or I could feel his pain. The pain of betrayal. The indescribable agony. Jodan was crying as his heart tearing apart. Unwantedly a drop of water fell from my eyes.

"It...it. .can't be...it...can't be true…" Even if he was trying his best to convince himself with the lies. Deep inside he knows that all of it is nothing but false hope. The cold-hearted Mr. Lukas didn't pity him for once.

"Do you still think she loved you? Don't make a fool of yourself Jodan. I told you the truth. There's no hope in there. Just tell us where is that system." Jodan wasn't answering. To be more precise, he wasn't able to answer because of his heavy sobbing. People cry three ways. The first one is a quiet cry. It means you cry and tears fall from your eyes, No talks nothing just tears. The next one is loud. As its name sound, you will be labeled as a loud or nosy crying baby If you were making out irritated. The final one is pathetic crying. You could see someone crying as if they had lost their motive for life. They lost all the hopes they had. It's quite rare to see someone crying like that. For the first time, I had witnessed it with my eyes. Jodan's crying was the rarest one. He was loud but also quiet at the same time. He would mumble "Jessica… Jessica… tell me it's ...not ..true" from time to time. His legs and arms were not fully regenerated or perhaps he stopped the regeneration. I could only guess. "Make your mind Jodan! This isn't time for your pity crying. I know you can't feel emotion. You people don't have any empathy." Mr. Lukas had a disgusted look on his face. "quit the act. I'm fade up with this." However, Jodan didn't stop rather he continued more intensely.

How does feeling betrayed felt like? Is it that painful? Perhaps it's just a fraction of what Jodan was showing. I asked myself the question. As a human, I also don't know what it felt because I never got in such trouble. Jodan was a veteran in this field. He is like a king of pain. He had suffered so much pain from the past few weeks and still hasn't uttered the truth. How much more do we have to do until he reveals himself to us? Even Mr. Lukas didn't know the answer to that question.

Mr. Lukas threw the file onto the table beside him and gazed at me in a tired expression. "Let's take a rest, Reyes. It seems we wouldn't get any out of him right now." I nodded in agreement. Jodan was indeed in an unstable phase. He was laughing at him from time to time and crying in the middle. What the heck with him? It's getting creepy! I averted my sights unable to see it anymore. It's already lunchtime. I wonder what show I have today. But at that very moment, something happened.

Mr. Lukas became serious all of a sudden. "Reyes take this and go next room and press the red button." Out of nowhere, Mr. Lukas ordered me. This was unexpected. Mr. Lukas never asked me to do anything out of contrast.

"B-But why?" I asked in a panic. "just do it!" Despite not wanting to leave him alone, I rushed to the door, unlocked it, and was running at a full speed to the next room. I could see Mr. Lukas's face as the door was closing automatically. I felt as if this is gonna be my last time seeing his face. The cold-hearted looks on his face weren't the same today. It was mixed with a bit of worriedness. Mr. Lukas making a call to someone that I couldn't grasp. The door finally closed fully and I couldn't tell what's on the other side now. I reached the room and pressed the red button hurriedly. A siren went loud all around the prison. But something louder than a siren happens right after. An earthquake? Whatever it was the prison guards went running near the destruction. Within a minute I could hear the same sounds but this time it happened close to me. As I glanced at the CCTV footage that connects to the torture cell, the untold thing that we could never expect happened. The door was shattered into large pieces. Smoke covered the entire room. The lights kept flickering. The CCTV was glitching here and there but I was lucky enough to see through it. Mr Lukas was still in his old position but he took a fighting posture. It looked as of he was trying to protect Jodan from some unknown person. You could call this very moment,

"Prison Broke out."
