Xiulan's sole intention was to confess her feelings and to disclose that she loved him, however, he didn't even give her the chance to say that.

She was under the impression that his rejection would hit some sense into her, so that she could leave the past and move on. But his tears said otherwise. She had never seen him tear up and it made her feel guilty at the bottom of her heart. Did her romantic feelings hurt him to such an extent? 

His reaction clearly said that he wasn't interested in her. He didn't even want to continue listening to what she had to say. Did he hate her now? He treated her like a sister, but her feelings for him weren't pure. Did it disappoint him? Did he abhor it?
