49 The beginning of a war

The town of Avegus. A town where I used to make a living in before the examination. Did I even make a living? Well… Gambling is also a way of earning money, kekeke…

Anyway… The moment I had arrived at the town, I made sure to buy a mantle. Why? Well, that's because that's the least suspicious looking item to wear. With it, I figured that I should be able to hide my identity, and not draw a lot of attention at the same time. There were plenty hooded figures after all, and with my mantel, I was sure that I looked like the average upon average. Hehehe… Stealth, one hundred…

Well… From the games I've played, I did learn that the best information could be found in a tavern. So, you know what I did? Of course, I went inside a tavern after asking a few people around me for the directions. Asking people where a tavern is, isn't suspicious after all. Kekeke… I'm too smart, ain't I?

"Have you found anything?"

"Yes. I found a man who knew exactly of that person when I told him about the looks of the guy that keeps messing with our dreams. He said he's seen him a few weeks ago inside his restaurant. It's possible that he's a disciple of the Rising Dragon sect at the moment…"

"Sh*t! How do we kill him then? Damn it! A mere outer disciple dared to kill on of us… Now we're stuck with our mind forcing us to kill him every time we sleep!"

*Sigh* "It truly is an annoyance. Luckily, he's nothing but an ant… From what I know about the sect, he would have to get out of the sect eventually, to do a quest, because he's still a baby that needs enough crystals to buy himself some food. This means that we can kill him when he's outside…"

"Hehe… Good thinking brother… We should have a few of our kinds within the Rising Dragon sect. With every one of us willing to kill that damned brat that doesn't know his own boundaries, we can even form up an entire team to gang up on him. That way, he won't be able to escape, nor would he be able to call his elder in time…"

'Huhuhu… I like the way you think too, brother."

Oh my… For sure, even I liked the way those two guys thought. It made me wonder…

'Are they actually smart, or are they just dumb.'

Why did I think like that? Well… They were quite stupid for telling their plans out loud. Like… I was about five meters away from them, and I was still able to hear them very well. Don't they realize that there is a chance that I might have connections outside of the sect, like friends who care about me for example. Better yet! Don't they realize that there is also a chance for me to be near them?! Well, I guess they do have their arrogance… I am but an outer disciple after all. If they knew that I was near them, I'm sure that they would be more than happy to see me.

It's still troublesome nonetheless, and those two are still smart in their own way. If they surround the sect in search for me, and have a couple of insiders within the sect, there would be no way for me to ever get out of the sect, unless I blended in with a few other friendly cultivators. That would be near impossible though…

*Sigh* 'I'm really in trouble now. How would I even be able to gain more XP if it's like this?! Damn it!'

Indeed, it was truly a horrible situation for me… I had no choice but to stay inside the sect. Even staying inside the sect wasn't a guaranteed safety. After all, the sect had the Phoenix-blood people as well. Another day, another f*ckfest…

I had a plan however. After thinking about it for more than an hour, I finally came up with a solution that was meant to be. Yep, I did stay inside the tavern for that long.

First of, my current quest… I already had the knowledge of what was happening, so, after I tell elder Xuan about it, not only would I complete the quest, but I would also be able to get some type of protection after I explain the situation of mine, which is related to the quest, to him. That was the only way for now. I wasn't sure if I would still be able to go outside of the sect after today, however, not being able to go outside is better than not being able to be safe outside and inside of my own home.

'Let's just hope for the best.' I thought after I made my decision.

In fact, there was also a second plan to my plan. That plan, was to kill… I hadn't killed any humans in my life before, however, since this is a world where it's killed or be killed, I believed that I would be able to set my morals aside. After all, I've slaughtered some creatures before, in preparation for humans. Who knew that my very first dangerous enemy on earth, would be someone supernatural…

That sub-plan of mine though… I would only do that in desperate times. Right now I really wanted to try out such a plan, however, I knew that it would be difficult with my current power and position within this world.

So let me tell you about my big brain plan… The plan, which is to kill all of my enemies one by one, and perhaps gain XP through them… Slowly and steadily, I'll take care of my enemies, and with every enemy of mine that I put down, I'll be able to eliminate more and more enemies easily…

Although the plan sounds perfect, I can't do that at the moment. The problem is that I'm not sure if I can eliminate a target instantaneously. With so many of my enemies within the town, if a long fight were to happen, people would gather, and I'd probably have more enemies to face by the time I am done with my first opponent.

For sure, I would die…
