Watch your steps

The mahogany wooden door clicked open and Leonard walked in, he creased his eyebrows when he found Alexander and Samantha glaring at each other with piercing eyes.

" What the hell is happening here man? will you keep on glaring at each other while the food is turning cold."

He chuckled lightly to lighten the mood, both Alex and Sam turned their attention to him.

" Hello beautiful, I'm Leonard Young. You can call me Leon." Leonard smiled warmly at Sam, shaking her hand gently in a friendly manner.

Samantha already liked his personality he's such a darling, he thought everyone in the mafia is gloomy and commanding like Alexander. Sam never thought she would find someone to joke with.

" Hello, I'm Samantha Salvador, you can call me Sam as well." She reciprocated his friendly smile, shaking back his hand. Alexander glanced Leon with dagger eyes, giving him a deadly warning.

" Come on Sam, you have to take breakfast before it turns cold." Leon gripped her hand gently, leading her towards the table, Leon ignored Alexander's eyes completely. He's used to his cold personality and words.

Samantha stumbled on his feet and she was about to fall but Alexander grabbed her in place, in a twinkle of an eye. He glared at Sam deep in her captivating sky blue eyes.

" You have to watch your steps Samantha, l won't be there to save you always." Samantha's heart fluttered when she heard him call her name, so he knew her name all along but he kept on calling her " Woman?"

She gritted her teeth in anger when reality hit her, " I'll keep that in mind Alexander, you'll never find a chance to save me again and hold me." Her lips curved into a naughty smile.

" So get your hands off me." Samantha brushed his masculine hand away, She held on to Leonard's hand tightly and he helped him up.

" Thank you, Leonard, these sandals are too big for me." Samantha exhaled heavily, peeking at Alexander who had already walked to the table, his face was dark than ever.

" I'll take you to the mall for shopping after breakfast Samantha, don't worry." Samantha's shoulders dropped when she heard his words.

" l don't have any money, l forgot to carry some."Her lips twisted into a timid smile.

" Take it as my treat, okay." Leonard raised his eyebrows at her, " are you sure about it? there's no need for you to waste your money on me."

Leonard pulled the chair for her, " thank you." She smiled at him, sitting on the perfectly designed wooden chair.

" Don't worry, I'll take care of your shopping bills."

Leonard winked at her jokingly, Alexander pushed a plate piled with food to her.

" No, I'll take care of her shopping Leonard." His husky voice thundered inside the quiet room.

Samantha shifted her eyes from the plate full of food to glare at the cold man, " I'm fine with Leonard taking care of it." She answered him coldly, picking up the fork and knife. Leon let out a throaty chuckle upon hearing Sam's reply.

" l think you heard her direct and clear brother." Leon winked at Alexander, " shut the hell up, Leon, before you lose your head right now." He warned him coldly, picking up a piece of meat using a fork and stuffing inside his mouth angrily.

Samantha felt bad for being too rude towards him, he saved her when she was in the woods. She felt guilty when she recalled how scary it was, just a few minutes ago, he saved her from hitting the tiled concrete floor.

" What about me? don't tell me I'll be watching you guys eat breakfast. l didn't take anything in the morning, l came to check on you, Samantha. You were unconscious when Alex asked me to leave yesterday."

Leon grumbled, resting his head on the palm.

" You're not welcomed to have breakfast with us." Alex cut him off immediately, Samantha turned her head to glare at Alex in disbelief, how can this man be too cold towards his friend?.She shook her head in disbelief.

" Let's share my food Leon, this is too much for me." She pushed her plate towards him, " thank you." Leonard smiled at her faintly and picked up the fork.

" You need to eat more so that you can gain some weight." Alexander muttered concentrating on his plate.

" I'm fine with my body weight, l don't need to gain or lose weight." Sam's lips curved into a stiff smile.

Leonard glared at Alex with widened eyes, he wonders if his friend knows to talk to a woman. He shook his head slightly.

" Will this man ever know how to address a lady nicely? he needs to work hard on it."

Leon said those words more to himself, he didn't want to lose his head at the moment. lt has to remain intact with his body so that he can watch how Alexander will handle Samantha, thanks to the heavens Sam is stubborn too.

He knows Alexander is trying hard to hold back his anger, he's giving him a thumb up because he has tried hard, it's not easy for him.

They were eating in silence when Alexander stood up from the seat and ascended the grand staircase, Sam closed her eyes slightly heaving a sigh in relief. it's suffocating to stay under the same roof with that bastard.

" Does Alexander always act this way? l mean, is he this cold towards everyone?" Samantha questioned Leon, making sure her voice is as low as possible.

" Yes, we're used to it anyway. Don't let him scare you, okay." Leonard whispered back, although he's so sure Alex is hearing what they're talking about.

" I'm not scared of him anyway, it's just that, l can't understand why he's this called, he doesn't even smile for a sec. He's so boring to be around him....ugh"

Samantha rolled her eyes, placing her leg on the top of the other. Alexander cleared his throat when he stepped his foot on the ground floor, he had heard everything she said about him.

"Did he hear what we said?" Samantha questioned Leon, stiffening on the chair like a statue. " l don't think so, don't worry about him." Leonard assured her, glaring Alexander over Sam's head.

Alexander gave him a warning look, proofing he already heard what they said.

" Here is the medicine, you need to take this."

Alexander poured a glass of water for her, Samantha glared the medicine with a disgusting look. She hates the drugs with passion.

" l feel better, l don't need those things anymore."

She pushed away the medicine, although she's about to graduate as a qualified doctor. She hates medicine so much, she likes it when she prescribes it to patients but she can't find herself swallowing it down her throat.

Alexander closed his eyes in frustration, he didn't know what to do with this stubborn girl anymore. He heard his heartbeat when he concentrated fully.

" You're still sick Sam, can you just listen and stop being stubborn. If you don't want to take it fine then, I'll be happier to bury you six feet deep." Alexander slammed the glass on the table and it crashed into pieces.

Samantha flinched, hugging Leon tightly as if she had seen the scariest ghost. She glared at Alexander and saw his eyes glowing red faintly, she hugged Leon more tightly.

Alexander walked towards the heavy wooden mahogany door, he opened it angrily and closed it behind him with a bung. The old butler walked to the table instantly when he heard the breaking of a glass.

He swept the glass pieces, Leon hugged Sam back. He knew she was more terrified.

" Come on Sam, you've to take the medicine. You'll take the juice after swallowing the drug tablets." Samantha nodded her head almost immediately.

She didn't want to make Leon angry, he's the only person who's friendly to her. She grabbed the tablet from his hand, leaned her head back and swallowed the tablets, she closed her eyes tightly outstretching her hand to receive the glass of juice.

She gulped the juice in a blink of an eye, she panted heavily placing the glass back on the top of the table.

" l hate taking drugs." She lowered her head shyly, " it's okay, you need to get some rest."

Sam walked back to the luxurious room to take a nap.

" You can ask the butler to call me if you need anything, okay." Leon assured her before walking outside the room, Sam nodded her head gently at him.

Leonard dashed out of the room to check on Alexander who was staring at the stream which passes through his villa blankly, his hand was clenched into a tight fist till his knuckles turned white.

His elongated nails pierced his palms mercilessly, blood dripped from his wounds.

" What's happening with you man, you have to be patient with the girl Alexander, you have to keep your anger in check." Leonard raked his hair roughly, heaving a sigh.
