7 Stubborn

Alexander unclenched his hands, the wound on his palm began to heal instantly as if he wasn't hurt in the first place. He turned around to face Leonard with piercing eyes.

" She's testing my patience Leonard, I'm tired of baby sitting this useless woman." His lips curved into a smile, he shook his head gently.

" I'll just eliminate her from my group so that we can get rid of excess burden, do l look like a babysitter to her?" Alexander was more furious, his voice thundered in quiet air.Leonard flinched a bit.

" You've to calm down Alexander, don't do something that you'll regret for the rest of your life. Since when did you begin to bend your oaths?"

Leonard nodded his head in amusement, resting his hands on his waist.

" So all it takes is a woman?." He chuckled sarcastically, he has to stop Alexander from acting irrational.

Mafias always obey their oaths, he knows Alexander oathed to protect Monalisa the moment Mr Jason asked him to do so. Alexander's eyes shifted from the stream to Leon.

" What are you trying to imply? how is a woman involved in this conversation?" He questioned him, the clouds turned dark as if getting angry a long with him.

" You're going to bend your oath because of a woman? l never knew all it takes is a stubborn woman for you to break your oath, Alexander. " Leonard heaved a long sigh, he has to knock some sense in his damn head.

He knows Sam is acting that way because of Alex, he's so cold towards her. He treats her as his pet, and that's why Samantha is becoming hard-headed.

" Just disappear from my sight Leonard, you're not helping. " Alexander commanded him coldly, the thunder roared and the rain began pouring heavily.

" You've to be gentle on her, she might change her ways. She's a woman for heaven's sake, you can't handle her the way you handle your men, Alexander. You've to be aware of that."

Leonard wanted to make sure the point is driven at home, he's the only person who knows Alexander very well.

" Get the hell out of here, you've no right to lecture me, Leonard. Just shut your damn mouth before l cut your sharp tongue." He grabbed him by the collars.

Leon's lips curved into a mischievous smile, he glared Alexander mockingly.

" I'm just saving your ass man, get your hands off me." Leonard fixed his shirt before walking away. Alexander remained rooted on the same spot.

The rain continued to pour heavily while the lightning flashed each second, Leonard arrived inside the room drenched. Samantha tossed on the bed when her eyes landed on him, she jumped from the bed instantly.

" What's happening? why are you drenched, Leon? Wait! where is Alexander?." Samantha asked him a series of questions. A smile flashed on Leon's lips.

" He's fine, don't worry about him." Sam creased her eyebrows glancing at him doubtfully.

" You've to get out of those clothes before you catch a cold."

Samantha walked to the closet to bring him some clothes so that he could change.

" I'm going to change at home, take care of yourself okay." Leon smiled timidly at her, Sam's heart sank when he heard his words.

" You're going to leave me here with Alexander? can l go with you please?" She pouted her lips, she was worried about staying with Alexander since she had made him angry. Who knows what he might do to her? she feels scared whenever she's around him.

" Oh God! please help me. I'm not ready to die anytime soon." Sam closed her eyes slightly, heavily a sigh.

It takes her courage to talk back at him, she doesn't want to give him the satisfaction of defeat. That's why she keeps on arguing and quarrelling with him every time.

Leon chuckled when he saw her pale face, the stubborn Sam was long gone.

" Alexander will take good care of you than l can, he'll protect you better too." He heaved a sigh.

" What the hell are you talking about? l think he'll pop a shampagne when he finds me dead." Sam thought to herself.

Sam nodded her head in defeat, " don't be afraid of him okay?" Leonard reminded her.

" Okay, remember to take cold drugs." She reminded him.

" Sure I will."

He turned around to glance at her before twisting the metallic doorknob, Samantha nodded her head, pressing her lips into a thin line. Samantha walked to the window to glare at the beautiful environment.

" You need to bear this Sam, there's no way out. You'll loose your family if you try to escape." She reminded herself.

She hasn't stepped out of this mansion since she was brought here, she's anxious to walk around and see how beautiful this villa looks.

Her eyes darted around, admiring the perfectly shaped flowers and trees. Samantha squinted her eyes to have a clear view, although it was dark outside because of the heavy rain.

" Wait! what the hell is Alexander doing in the rain? is he out of his mind?"

He could tell it was Alexander who was standing in the rain close to the stream.

" What is he thinking? he'll catch a cold if he continues standing there."

" Alexander! what are you doing? you'll catch a cold." Samantha shouted at the top of her lungs, although she knews it was hard for him to hear her since it was raining heavily, she decided to give it a try.

She's Alexander's right-hand woman, she needs to protect him in case of anything. She ran her slender fingers through her thick black hair roughly, trying to figure out what to do.

" What will l do now?" Sam tried to reason out.

Alexander didn't dare to turn his head, he wanted to stay in the rain for a little longer. Maybe the rain would help to wash away the anger boiling inside his vein, he closed his glowing eyes tightly.

Enjoying the cold water against his skin, it was soothing. Anger was subsidising with each raindrop on his skin, Sam descended the grand staircase hurriedly.

She bumped into David the old butler, " What's the hurry all about young lady? how can l help you?" He questioned her politely.

" Uhm...sir, do you have a raincoat and an umbrella? " David nodded his head, " yes, hold on." David walked away instantly and came back with an umbrella and raincoat.

" Here they're Mrs." He smiled faintly at her, " thank you Mr, just call me Samantha, that's my name." She slid into the raincoat and walked towards the wooden mahogany door.

She pushed the door open, she shivered slightly when cold air brushed her flawless skin. She clicked the umbrella open and sauntered towards Alexander's direction.

" Damn it, l can't believe I'm a babysitter."

She cursed underneath, exhaling in frustration. She never imagined looking after a mature person who has all senses and knows to differentiate between right and wrong but...he chose to disturb her anyways.

Alexander sensed someone approaching him, he could smell her sweet scent, the mixture of flowers and honey. He turned around instantly, this is too weird to be true, what is she doing in the rain?

she's still sick for heaven's sake.

Alexander's heart hammered foolishly when reality hit him, he turned around and sauntered towards her with swift steps. Sam's eyes widened in surprise, how could a normal human walk that fast?

Alexander picked her from the ground and carried her into his arm, Samantha clung onto his shoulders tightly, holding the umbrella over their heads.

" You're so stubborn Samantha, you're still sick but you keep on walking in the rain! " He snapped those words through gritted teeth.

Samantha was dumbstruck, so he's blaming her again? she was just trying to do what she's supposed to do. She clenched her hands into a fist on his shoulders, till her knuckles turned white.

Sam was getting to the edge of the cliff with this kind of life, always fighting with this bastard and being summoned and blamed, no matter how she tries to do the right thing.

Alexander pushed the door open using his strong leg, the butler was more shocked. He has never seen this side of the young master, so he has a heart?.

Alexander ascended the grand staircase with heavy steps, he pushed the door of his room open using Samantha's stretched legs.

Alex placed her on the tiled floor angrily but carefully.

He glanced at her coldly, he sauntered to his closet and pulled the heavy knitted sweater, shirt and underwear.

" You need to change into these warm clothes, you're so weak Samantha, you should stop making crazy moves. What the hell were you thinking ?"

Alexander snapped at her with trembling jaws, Samantha's eyes widened in surprise.

" So it's my fault? you're my responsibility Alex, l have to look after you, to make sure you're doing fine." She exhaled heavily, her eyes welled up.

Alexander glared at her with raised eyebrows, he wondered who was supposed to babysit the other.

" You're unbelievable Alexander, you're the reason why l sacrificed myself to walk in the rain although l haven't fully recovered."

Samantha couldn't hold back tears, she sat on the king-sized bed helplessly. She buried her face in her palms, tears flowing from her sky blue eyes. She bit her lower lips to cage the sobs but it was all in vain.

Soft sobs escaped from her tender lips filling the quiet room, she wanted to cry her heart out. She had reached her limit, she had to shade some tears so that she could calm her nerves down.
