Well, Shiro was the one who had the corpse with him. If anything, they were the ones to get healed and look for Shiro.

So why would he say that?

Well, it was simple. The adventurers already knew of the fact that Chosen ones or Apostles keep their identities hidden. So obviously the two girls wouldn't have any idea about Shiro's powers.

Hence, they pretended as if they had the monster's corpse with them.

Shiro smiled as he nodded his head, understanding their intentions.

Shiro thanked the man and headed back with the two girls.

He decided to rest for at least two days, pretending he had been wounded or injured.

On the third day, he rushed to meet the adventurers in order to claim his money or to be precise, to let them have their share.
