"Look! It's the tart hibiscus!" One of the girls screamed as soon as she sighted a yellow petaled flower on the grassy streets. They were already few metres into the city and since then till now, they had been looking forward to seeing any herb until this one.

"My world, am finally going to attract more males." The olive skinned girl rushed over to the flower like a proud peacock. She is the less attractive girl amongst the team with large boobs and tanned skin maybe from sunburn and ashen hair.

The likes of Orin detested seeing people like her come close to him.

The tart hibiscus is of the body genus herb that works on attracting opposite sex once consumed. It's effects usually lasts for a while.

The girl plucked the tart hibiscus and began to chew it till the last bit. Her eyes scanned Vandel while her heart fluttered at the thought. 'Its finally going to work'

They stood for a while watching the girl to see if anything is going to happen but there was no effect.

"Huh, did I consume trash?" The girl muttered.

"Hahaha! Fool! You're not even sure if its the true herb. Probably you must have consumed poison..." Orin ridiculed the girl.

"Oh boy... What have you done to yourself now?" Master Park shook his head.

Surely the herb works when an opposite sex talks directly to the person that has consumed it immediately after consumption. Hehehe! Orin...

"Oh my, you look so sweet."

Orin began walking towards the girl. His expression was saying otherwise but his feet was approaching her with ease.

"This isn't what I wanted!" The girl screamed and took a short glance at Vandel.

Hahahaha, everyone burst into laughter.

"Such perfect pair."

"I bet this isn't what Orin bargained for." Vandel laughed really hard.

Opal giggled. She too was amused by how things turned out. Orin is finally going to lose face when this is over.

Orin stepped closer to the girl with few inches barely separating them. He held her by the waist and drew her in.

'Well, not bad,' the girl thought.

She had calluses on her palms and rough fingers which pricked Orin's face when she cupped it. Orin brought his face closer to hers and kissed her.

"This is a historical moment." Opal quickly slipped out her cellphone and began to take pictures of them. "I sure will post it in the school's group."

Orin took his mouth away from hers and gasped for breath. "Can someone please save me!!!" He screamed but then... "Your lips are so luscious." He resumed the kiss.

Everyone giggled and turned away from them leaving the new couple to their honeymoon.

They began to explore the area. "Don't go too far," master Park said

Vandel helped Opal to a rock. "Sit here. Don't use your magic. Let me see what herbs I can find around here."

Opal nodded. As Vandel turned to leave, she called. "Vandel, please be careful."

Vandel smiled and left.

He began to check out the other parts of the city with denser plants and grasses. He wondered how he was going to identify the plants he needed and were worth a ton of money at least to see if he can purchase the elixir needed to cure Opal's soul from the black market or employ the services of a skilled alchemist.

Just then a thought hit his mind. The skill, discern. A smile appeared at the corner of his lips. He moved towards a plant with a slightly dark brown petal. All around that area were plants of the same specie.

[Discern]

[Name: latusella]

[Genus: spirit]

~It can conceal aura when consumed.

[Duration: 1 leaf, 1 hour]

[Worth: 300,000 Wiat]

"Woah. That's a whole lot of money."

Quickly Vandel began to pluck the latusellas, making sure not to miss even one of them. He sighted another one up ahead as he was plucking the latusellas.

It was shaped like a rose flower with a bold greyish colour. Vandel rushed towards its cluster.

[Discern]

[Name: spirit rose]

[Genus: spirit]

~It can be used to make potions for amplifying magic casting and double its intensity.

[Duration: its effects can last up to six hours]

[Worth: Herb, 500,000 Wiat. Spirit rose potion, 1,000,000 Wiat]

"F*ck me! Am going to be stinkingly rich at this rate."

Like a crazed adventurer who just discovered gold, Vandel began to pluck more of the spirit rose while using his discern to pick the ones of higher worth.

When he was exhausted, he turned to the heap he had produced. He sighed. How is he going to carry this heap of herbs?

Just then a thought bounced into his mind. He was going to keep it in his local store. He hoped it wasn't meant for items purchased from his online store only.

[Retrieve]

Thick large blue fog encapsulated the heap of herbs and within a blink, everything was gone. 'I love you system!'

At the other end, he saw an unread notification. He quickly clicked on it.

[Phantom warrior tutorials]

~Fight like a true phantom.

"This level comes with a tutorial. I see."

He clicked on the tutorial and a new page quickly loaded.

A female robotic voice began to speak into his mind almost like another part of him.

[Phantom warrior tutorials unlocked]

"Wait, you didn't describe what the spectral energy is for r-ob-ot." Vandel called and called but the voice didn't return.

He installed the new tab, spectral energy and clicked on it to read its description.

[Spectral energy]

~A compound that counters all life energy like Qi and mana. It can tear through space to produce a larger effect. When amplified with agility, user moves at the speed of light. When amplified with strength, user's attack produces a shockwave that breaks bones.

"Hehehe! I'll become immortal at this rate..."

"Everyone we should be heading out now!" Liam shouted. They had spent a lot of time exploring the city ruins. Good thing about it is that no magic monster had attacked them since they got here.

As Vandel turned to head back to the team, his foot hit against an iron object. Surprisingly, it didn't produce a larger sound instead its muffled sound explained that it had something in it.

He shoved the plants covering the object behind to get a better view of it. It was a dark bottle with a blood red lid.

.

At first, he thought it was some kind of magic monster given its dark eerie engravings. He opened the lid and a rough odour oozed out from it. He coughed and shut the lid. It was filled with a black reddish liquid.

"What's this?"

[Discern]

[Name: elixir of darkness]

[Genus: ??]

[Duration: ??]

[Worth: ??]

"Then of what use is it?" Vandel almost screamed out his frustration but thought to hold it. It might be useful at some point or have an incredible worth. Maybe his discern level was too weak to check the status of something as this. He quickly retrieved it to his local store.

Deep angry snarls sounded behind him as soon as he took one step forward. He slowly tilted his head to the direction of the sound when strong sharp canines gripped his arm. His flesh tore as the canines pulled.

Arrgh!

The sharp canines from the jaws of a sabre-toothed dark wolf with ancient blue runes all over it's body kept tearing at his flesh drawing massive blood from his arm and causing him deep pains. It kept swinging him to the side as he struggled to free his arm but it was useless as his arm was finally detached from his body.

Thick gore splashed all over the grass and the face of the wolf which began to munch Vandel's arm.

His blood pumped rapidly into the air and sprayed on his body. He dropped to the floor as pains exploded within his body.

Someone gasped from the team.

"Vandel!!"
